Tammy Narog provided a Community Corrections report and discussed community service. Their grant review on May 13 went well. Exterior building improvements were discussed. April Sinsel provided updates for the Fairgrounds. Fireworks will be held on July 2 with a rain date of July 9. On a motion by Dave Strait and seconded by. Jamie Carpenter, $5,000 was approved for the fireworks show by Little Big Shots. Other activities are also being scheduled. 3/0 Discussion was held regarding athletic teams performing community service hours at the fairgrounds for a monetary contribution. July 19-July 23. On a motion by David Strait and seconded by Susie Cvechko, this training was approved ini the amount of $600.00, plus travel and will be expensed from the Animal Control budget. If registered early, a 10% discount applies. 3/0 Corey Brandon provided an OEM update. The HVAC units are installed and functioning properly at the state police tower site. COVID-19 vaccines are offered Monday-Friday at various locations ini the county. Address and Mapping is in the process of replacing road signs. American Legion Post 44 submitted a letter requesting the Commission to take control of the Memorial Day Flag placement at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, which would involve storing and upkeep of the flags and organizing volunteers to place and remove the flags. Plans are in place to dissolve Post 44 in September 2022. The commission will take this request into consideration Phil Sandy expressed concerns regarding the Volga and Century communities and asked if anything can be done to clean up the area. Currently, no ordinances are in place regarding dilapidated properties. Attempt will be made to contact DEP, DNR, and DOH regarding a specific complaint.
