BOOK 28 PAGE 250 Barbour County Commission Meeting August 30, 2021 9:00am SUSIE CVECHKO COMMISSION PRESIDENT,JAMIE CARPENTER COMMISSIONER, DAVIDSTRAIT COMMISSIONER, CONNIE KAUFMAN COUNTY CLERK, SHANAI FREY COUNTYA ADMINISTRATOR Dylan Harper, Kim Lewis, Aaron K. Harris, Teresa Harris, Jennifer Plercy, Corey Brandon, Wesley Susie Cvechko called the meeting to order at 5:00pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The commission meeting was held with in-person attendance and via conference call. On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, the August 20 and August 26, 2021 Gray meeting minutes were approved. 3/0 Exonerations were presented. Onar motion by. Jamie Carpenter and seconded by Susie Cvechko, five (5) final settlements were EUGENE HOMER EVERSON, DOUGLAS CLYDE PHILLIPS, ORLAN CROUSE, JR., HOWARD GENE Jennifer Piercy, Executive Director of County Commission. Association, provided an update from the association. Legislative roundtables are being scheduled and a CCAWV Board meeting is upcoming. CCAWV continuously provides updates regarding the ARP funds and reporting along The Town of Junior submitted their Municipality Community Event application, which includeda fun fair, Halloween party, craft show and a spring carnival. Discussions wère held regarding COVID concerns and if events could bet flexible in this regard. Various ideas were discussed on ways to incorporate organizations in the town to create a larger benefit. The funds drawdown Corey Brandon, OEM, presented current COVID-19 statistics. He discussed the impending storm Ida and howi it is predicted to affect our area. The Statè is' WVis currently under a State of Preparedness and all state agencies are on standby. A conference call is scheduled with the National Weather Service in the morning that will provide additional updatès and alerts. The large concern is flash flooding in our area, OEM/911 will monitor the county Tuesday night into Dylan Harper, 911 Director, noted that all the tower sites and portable generators were checked approved. 3/0 HIGGINS, SR., GLADYS M. These systems are critical infrastructure pieces oft the 911 system as well as significant purchases. Dylan Harper held additional follow up discussions with all parties and discovered additional guidance has been released by the) WVSIRN Committee that could require additional license fees and: service contract. He wants the opportunity to review this guidance and table the radio system until The recording system quote was presented for approval. Discussion was held regarding the option to include the ability to record Rapid SOS. Following discussion, Jamie Carpenter made: a motion, seconded by David Strait to approve the quote for a recording system with Rapid SOS from Unified Solutions in the amount $122,365.00. This will be paid from the County clarification is received. Commission Capital Projects fund. Aspecial meeting was requested for September 7th at 3:00 pm for approval of the delinquent tax list. Dylan mentioned he will attempt to have all the information needed on the Radio system The ARP WorkSession is rescheduled for September 14, 2021 at 5:00 in the Barbour County Courtroom. The àpplication'is expected to open on September 20, 2021. The next regular meeting will be held on September 17, 2021 at 9:00am. and present for approval at this special meeting.
