The commission meeting was also held via conference call. On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by Susie Cvechko, the February 1, 2022 meeting minutes were approved. 2/0 Exonerations were presented. Assessor Spencer requested a Special Commission Meeting for the purpose of approval consideration to purchase a vehicle for his appraisement department. February 23, 2022 will be Onar motion by Susie Cvechko and seconded by Jamie Carpenter, six (6) final settlements were SHARLENE GORDON, VIOLET LUCILLE KINES, PAUL LEWIS MCLEAN, THEODORE B. LEACH, Sheriff Carpenter requested hiring two full time employees for Court Security and Service of Process toi fill vacancies. On a motion by Susie Cvechko, seconded by. Jamie Carpenter hiring of Dylan Harper, 911 Director, presented quotes for security equipment upgrades. He explained that recent equipment failures created al breach of security and needs addressed as soonas possible. A gate opener replacement was approved in the amount of $4,870.00 from Micrologic onamotion by Susie Cvechko, seconded by. Jamie Carpenter. 3/0 Upgrade of security cameras was approved ini the amount of $4,654.00 also from Micrologic on a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, Corey Brandon, OEM Director, reported that Barbour OEM/911 and WV Office of Emergency Management provided CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event) training anda a refresher course on Stop the Bleed kits to Barbour County Schools staff. BOOK 28 PAGE: 312 February 18, 2022 Page2 2 Belington Volunteer Fire Department submitted a request for $875.00 toward the purchase of two AEDS (Automatic External Defibrillator). They received promissory funding for the remaining funds. The request explained that the use ofa an AED can double, or even triple, survival rates. The AEDs will be stored on their apparatuses. On a motion by Jamie Carpenter, seconded by Woodlands Development Group, inj partnership with the Belington Revitalization Committee, submitted an application for funds ini the amount of $10,000 to support economic development initiatives at the Golden Rule. On a motion by Susie Cvechko, seconded by David Strait and passing unanimously, this request was approved and will be allocated from the Coal Reallocation Judy Buckner Larry submitted the Philippi Public Library's funding consideration request for the 2022-23 budget ini the amount of $20,000. She discussed services, historical funding levels, sources of funding and funding needs. Jeff Fellers presented a funding consideration request in the amount of $3,500.00 to support the Tucker Community Foundation Run For It program. He reported that since 2013, the County Commission has provided $30,500 ini funding to this program and $328,000 has gone back to Barbour County non-profits. On a motion by Susie Cvechko, seconded by David Strait, $3,500is Carol Talbott submitted the Barbour County Animal Friends funding consideration request for the 2022-23 budget ini the amount of $2,000 per quarter. She explained the cost of obtaining health certificates for animals, general increase in supplies, vet costs, and staffing. She also explained how Barbour County Animals Friends benefit the County Animal Control shelter.
