Onar motion by Susie Cvechko, seconded by David Strait, meeting minutes from June 15, 2022 April Sinsel, Joey Bolyard, Ruston Seaman, Verle Brown, Hunter Mullens and. June 22, 2022 were approved. 3/0 Exonerations were presented. Connie Kaufman provided updates to the Agatha Schoonover and Geraldine Wright estates. On a motion by David Strait, seconded by. Reggie Trefethen, along with Melissa Defibaugh, presented and explained upcoming projects at the Philippi/Barbour County Airport. The Runway Apron project is currently underway and was 100% FAA funded. The next project will be the design and construction of a Pilot's Lounge. This project will require a match from both the City of Philippi and the County. There are currently ten (10) T-hangers that are rented. Representatives from Harrison Child Advocacy Center were not in attendance. Sheriff Carpenter took a moment to thank the County Commission for their continued support. He requested consent to hire Daniel Barcus as a fulltime certified deputy to fillay vacancy. He reported that the department is currently at fulls staff and providing 24-hour coverage. He also will be eliminating two part time court security positions and hiring one full time. BOOK 28 PAGE370 July15,2022 Page2 Dylan Harper provided a report on 911/OEM and discussed road signs, upcoming exercises/drills, He reported that interviews were conducted for a vacant supervisor position. The position was open to current staff with an interview panel comprised of external individuals. The panel provided recommendation to promote Levi Gillis to the supervisor position. Dylan requested consent to hire Josh Barnes to fill a vacancy. and weather/power events. Dylan presented the new legislation that allows 911 dispatchers to participate in the EMSRS retirement system. The legislation goes into effect one month following the passage ofa resolution and applies to new hires.
