Ashcom. Jr., Kim Lewis, Dylan Harper, H. David Talbott, Jody Carpenter, Corey Brandon, Jeremy Drennen, Drew Phillips, Brett Carpenter, Wendy Madden Jamie Carpenter called the meeting to order at 9:00am and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Ona a motion by David Strait, seconded by Jedd Schola, the April 6, 2023 special meeting minutes  were approved. 3/0 Exonerations: were presented.  Onan motion by Jedd Schola, seconded by David Strait, seven (7) final settlements were  approved. 3/0  LOYD DALE SPOTLOE, WILDA BELLE LANHAM, MYRTLE CAMPBELL, SHIRLEY. JEAN SWIGER, KATHY Jeremy Drennen provided an update on the sewer line extension project. Property acquisition settled without requiring condemnation action. Commissioner Strait thanked Mr. Drennen and Mr. Ashcom for their efforts to avoid condemnation. On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, a resolution as approved authorizing assignment and conveyance of interests in real property to the City of Philippi pursuant tot the terms of the Intergovernmental Agreement Jacob Summerfield provided an animal control report and responded to 100 calls in March. He also provided a training certificate for the completed Animal Control training course. A discussion was held on the World War Doughboy statue. Senator Hamilton and Senator Karnes agreed to commit $8,760.00 and Delegate Phillips $1,000.00 toward the project. Ona motion by Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, $10,000.00 was committed toward the project and the quote from Kreilick Conservation was approved in the amount of $19,760.00. 3/0 Jody Carpenter is leading a four-member 4-H: Soils Land Judging team to the National 4-H Land Judging and Homesite Judging contest in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is requesting a $500.00 contribution to meet his $11,000.001 fundraising goal. On a motion by David Strait, seconded by Onar motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by. Jo Metheney fulltime beginning May 15t. On a motion by David Strait, seconded by Jamie Carpenter, the request was approved. 3/0 Vivian Parsons, WVCORP, presented information on the WVCORP Risk Pool and provided an update on the online portal services and the cyber security program. She also discussed the host Sheriff Brett Carpenter had nothing to report. Mr. Bob Richardson thanked Sheriff Carpenter for his attendance at the tringtown/Auntersiors Neighborhood watch meeting. The next step to formation is to meet again in 4-6) weeks and complete the structure paperwork. OEM and 911 provided an update on EMS call response times, grants and training. The Commission requested Sheriff Carpenter to provide them with a request proposal for  oft training options available.  cruisers.  The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 1, 2023 at 5:00pm.
