Jedd Schola the January 19, 2024 regular meeting minutes  Carpenter, Scott Gillis, Brad Miller, Joseph Barcus  were approved. 3/0 Exonerations were presented. Lee Coleman estate. 3/0  On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, the Sheriff was appointed to the Jeffrey A dispute was filed against the Geraldine Wright final settlement within the 10-day grace period by Dian Seckman. Attorney Mike Mullens submitted an explanation and itemized accounting in response to the dispute. On a motion by. Jedd Schola, seconded by. Jamie Carpenter, the final settlement should be revised to state funds from the Civil Action Suite was made payable to Mr. Steve Nanners, plaintif's attorney, and was dispersed to heirs by Mr. Nanners. The estimated dispersed amounts should be removed since they are not known. All documents should be provided to all parties and if satisfactory, the final settlement may be presented at the next commission  meeting. 3/0  Onamotion by David Strait, seconded by. JOHNSON, SANDRA KAY EDISON, DELMER LEE JOHNSON, HAROLD RAY MARTENEY Al letter was received on the Harold Ray Marteney estate requesting a donation to the Mt. Hebron Community Association in the amount of the Fiduciary fees ($600.00) due to the challenges and delay caused by the Fiduciary. The Commissioners suggested that Mt. Hebron Community  Association may want to consider submitting a funding request form.  Laurie Austin is preparing a publication seeking additional fiduciary commissioners and reviewing the The Jackie Raines estate was reopened due to receiving a settlement. Jedd Schola, the grant budget was approved AN Memorandum of Understanding and Management Agreement between the Barbour County Commission, Belington Emergency Squad and Barbour County Emergency Squad was prepared by legal counsel. On a motion by David Strait, seconded by. Jedd Schola, the agreement was accepted Jamie Carpenter made a motion to accept the signature of Dave Runion, President of Barbour County Emergency Squad, on the Memorandum of Understanding and Management Agreement;  as presented. 3/0  and put forth to the agencies. 3/0  David Strait seconded. 3/0  Belington Emergency Squad is reviewing the document.  A discussion was held on the purchase of a Transit Ambulance with 28,000 miles from Gilmer County Ambulance Authority. On a motion by David Strait, seconded by Jamie Carpenter, the purchase ofa 2021 Ford Transit Ambulance from Gilmer County Ambulance Authority in the amount of $60,000.00 was approved from the County Commission Capital Projects Fund. 3/0 Sheriff Carpenter reported on vehicles that are being prepared to go to auction and asked for He reported on a current vacancy, at which time Executive Session was entered on a motion by Regular Session was resumed at 6:42pm on a motion by Jamie Carpenter, seconded by. Jedd Schola.  consideration to purchase a vehicle for the Humane Officer. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by Jedd Schola at 5:45pm. 3/0  3/0  Deputy Barcus, Humane Officer, provided an Animal Control update. Corey Brandon and Dylan Harper provided an OEM/911 update.  Danielle Rush requested County Commission's continued sponsorship for the Belington Elementary Blue & Gray 5k race. On a motion by Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, $100.00 was  approved. 3/0  A discussion was held regarding the Honor Flight program that escorts Veterans to Washington D.C. to visit memoriais dedicated to honor Veteran's: service and sacrifices. On a motion by Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, a contribution of $700 was approved to adopt two Veterans for  this program. 3/0    BOOK 28 PAGE513  February 5, 2024 Page #3  Commissioner Strait also plans to attend as a Guardian on the flight.  Hero's Haven made a presentation of their services and submitted a request for funding in the amount of $15,000.00. The request will be taken into consideration during budget preparation. On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by. Jedd Schola, the Rainy Day CDs will be moved to the CDARS program with the IntraFI system at BC Bank fora a 6-month term at 5.2% and proper FDIC coverage. Required signatures include the Sheriff, County Clerk and Commission President. 3/0 Bids were reviewed for the Courthouse Facility Improvement Authority HVAC Renovation Project. Two responses were received. Casto Technical Services $178,756.00 and Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company $ 172,605.00. On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, the Casto  Technical group bid was approved. 3/0  The floor was open for public comment in order of the meeting sign-up sheet.
