BOOK 28 PAGE 529 Barbour County Commission Meeting April 3, 2024 EMERGENCY MEETING 11:30am JAMIE CARPENTER COMMISSION PRESIDENT, JEDDS SCHOLACOMMISSONER, SHANA FREY COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR Dylan Harper, Corey Brandon, Kim Lewis, Trevor Skidmore Jedd Schola called the Emergency meeting to order at 11:30am. The commission meeting was held via conference call. The purpose of this meeting is to adopt a Declaration of Local State of Preparedness in Barbour County due to recent weather events that have produced significant rainfall causing widespread Corey Brandon provided a weather update. Additional rain is expected throughout the day with He and Dylan Harper have been driving the county to monitor flooding. Most creeks are out of their banks; roads have debris from ditches, standing water, and some with swift water making Some reports from businesses and residents have reported water in their establishments. Flood stages will be monitored through the overnight. OEM will be scheduling a call with Fire Chiefs to discuss the stage in which to place assets on both sides of the river in Belington. As aresult of these weather events and ongoing risk of flooding, OEM is requesting al Local Corey Brandon read the Executive Order for Declaration ofa Local State of Emergency.
