David Talbott, Dylan Harper, Kim Lewis, Bob Richardson, Brett Carpenter, Rhett Dusenbury Jamie Carpenter called the meeting to order at 5:08pm an led the pledge of allegiance. On a motion by Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, the May 17, 2024 regular meeting Laurie Austin was absent to attend a County Clerk conference, however left correspondence to request appointment of Grace Stemple, Fiduciary Commissioner, to the John Russ Sr. estate due to an objection to the estate and dispute the appraisement. Jedd Schola, Executive Session was entered at 5:12pm Onamotion by David Strait, seconded by Jedd Schola, Regular Session was resumed at 5:39pm. 3/0 Sheriff Carpenter discussed an opportunity to host Active Shooter training in Barbour County. The training would be open to all departments in the county. On a motion by. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, upi to $10,000 was approved for Active Shooter training and necessary supplies. 3/0  COMMISSIONER, SHANA FREY COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR  minutes were approved. 3/0 Exonerations were presented.  David Strait, this was approved. 3/0 Coal Severance were approved. 3/0 to discuss the Sheriff's Department. 3/0  Dylan Harper discussed updates and in the process of hiring vacant positions. Jamie Carpenter, seconded by David Strait, the FY25 WVCORP Insurance renewal was approved for Property and Vehicle $94,686.00: and' Workers Compensation - $24,422.00.. - 3/0  The floor was open for public comment in order of the meeting sign-up sheet.
