BEITORDAINED: BYTHECITYCOUNCIL -diePgpe.lahem. as follows: Thatam municipal electioni is hereby called tol bel heldi ina and fori the City ofFayette, Alabama, on' Tuesday, August 23, 2016, for the purpose ofe electing a Mayor and five ()Councimembersto serve said City fora aj period of four (4): years from the first Monday in November, 2016. SECTIONI SECTIONI II Alli registered and qualified electors oft thes state whol haver resided within) Fayette County for thirty (30) days and withint the corporatel limits ofther municipality forap period oft thirty (30) daysand in the ward for thirty (30) days prior tot the election and whol have registered not less than ten (10) days prior tot the election will be authorized toj participate in said election. SECTION III That fort the accommodation of the votersi ins saide election, there shall be one central place of voting for all Wards tol be located at the Fayette Civic Center, 534 Temple Avenue North, Fayette, Alabama, in said City. Such qualification fees shall bej paid tot the City Clerk and deposited tot the general fund ofthe City, at orj prior to the time oft taking out qualification papers by any such candidates. Any person desiring to qualify whoi is not financially ablet toj payt the requiredi feer may qualify provided suchj prospectived candidate furnishest the Clerk with ana affidavit statingt that hei is financially unablet toj pay the required feel by this ordinance. SECTION VII That the Mayor shall cause to be made a list oft the qualified voters who reside within the corporate limits of the City of Fayette and who are registered to vote regular ballots, dividing the same with separate alphabetical lists of qualified voters ofe each Ward and toj perform all the duties relating thereto as set forthi in $11-46-36, 1975 Code of Alabama. Thel Mayor shall file suchl list of qualified voters witht the City Clerk on or before. July 19,2016, whos shall file andi retain such lista as ap public record in her office. The City Clerk shall cause such list to be published on or before August 18, 2016.
