Cityl Hall Fayette, Alabama November 28, 2017 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Fayette met at 5:00 o'clock, p.m. on Upon roll call the following were found to be present: Mayor Ray Nelson, Councilmembers Linda McCraw, Eddy Campbell, Jason Cowart, and Cedric Wilson. Also present were Police Chief Danny Jenkins, City Attorney Dale Lawrence, City Clerk Dawn Clapp, and City Engineer Dewayne November 28, 2017, int the Council Chambers oft the City Hall. Roby. Councilmember Jerry Nichols was absent. The opening prayer was given by Councilmember Eddy Campbell. Mayor Ray Nelson announced a quorum was present and the meeting was open for the Councilmember Campbell moved the minutes oft the regular meetingl held on! November 14, 2017, be approved. Upon the motion being seconded by Councilmember Cowart, the same was unanimously transaction ofb business. APPROVALOFI MINUTES approved. HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACEI REQUEST City Engineer Dewayne Roby reported to the Council that the City had received a letter from ALDOT recommending that no handicapped parking be added along State Highway 18 (Columbus Street). Mr. Scottie Porter had requested a parking space in front of his store on Columbus Street be designated as handicapped parking. It was the consensus of the Council to follow the recommendations OfALDOT and the City Engineer and not add a handicapped parking space on Columbus Street. PROECTUPDATES City Engineer Dewayne Roby stated the 2015 TAP Grant Project on the west side of Temple Avenue should start after the first of the year. He also stated the Sewer Project is underway and so far approximately 9001 linear feet ofi new: sewer line had been installed. thel Park" will continue from November 231d December 31. CHRISTMAS EVENTS INI FAYETTE Mayor Nelson stated the Christmas Parade will be held on December 4th and that "Christmas in Councilmember McCraw moved to have one Council meeting in December to be held on December 21, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Fayette Civic Center. Upon the motion being seconded by DECEMBERCOUNCILMEETING Councilmember Campbell, the same was unanimously approved. APPROVALOFI FIMANCIALSTAIEMENT Councilmember Cowart moved the City's financial statement be approved. Upon the motion Councilmember Wilson moved the Park & Recreation financial statement be approved. Upon the Councilmember Cowart moved the Council goi into executive session for the purpose ofc discussing potential litigation. The City Attorney statedt this exception was applicable to the planned discussion. Upon the motion being seconded by Councilmember Campbell, the same was unanimously approved. Councilmember Cowart moved the Council come out of executive session.
