Upon the motion Councilmember Wilson, the same was unanimously approved. being seconded by POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT FIREI DEPARTMENT REPORT Police Chief Danny Jenkins presented the police report for the month of December 2018. report was asf follows: 29i incidents investigated; 19 accidents; 141 traffic citations; and 35 arrests. The Fire Chief Shannon Taylor presented the fire report for the month of December Department received 34 calls. The Firel Department received 268t total calls in 2018. Fire 2019. The SPOTPAVINGANDI PATCHING PROJECTUPDATE Mayor Nelson updated the Council on the spot paving and patching Representative Kyle South and Mr. Luke Porter met with the State Highway project. Director Mayor Nelson, Mr. Luke Porter reported on the meeting with the State Highway Director. He stated for $380.000.00 for the 25th Street paving project. The State Highway Director said the State they asked $190,000.00 for the project. AJ joint City-County project was suggested whereby 25th Stl NW would give NW within the City would be paved along with portions of County Road 21 and County Road and 38 gth in Street the County. The suggested project would have at total length of approximately 3.8 miles 2.8 miles in County and 1 mile int the City. The partnership with the County would allow the funds for the project. Councilmember Councilmember Cowart stated he would like to close 10+ Street because (1) it is the only City street heavy trucks are allowed on; (2) the backup of heavy trucks on Columbus Street ALDOT tos widen the intersection of Highway 171 and Columbus Street; and, (3)t the paving andi may repairing prompt of10th Street has cost the City a lot ofn money.
