Work Session City Hall Fayette, Alabama November: 23, 2020  The City Council of the City of Fayette held a work session at 6:00 o'clock, p.m. on November Upon roll call the following were found to be present: Mayor Rod Northam, Councilmembers Virettia L. Whiteside, Tommy Williams, Aliska Hughes-Monroe and Jerry Nichols. Also present were City Clerk Dawn Clapp, City Attorney Dale Lawrence and Fire Chief Shannon Taylor. Councilmember Mayor Northam announced a quorum was present and the meeting was open for the transaction Mayor Northam reported to the Council on the local COVID-19 numbers. He stated Fayette Medical Center Administrator Don Jones reported the number of cases were the highest they have been since the start of the pandemic. Mayor Northam said the City encouraged the public to social distance,  23,2020, int the Council Chambers oft the City Hall.  Eddy Campbell was absent. ofbusiness. MUNICIPALBOARDS  Mayor Northam stated the Council would need to work toward making sure that each City board had a full complement of members and everyone who is serving on a board has been appointed for their current term. It was the consensus of the Council to establish a committee to review the membership of The Council discussed the recent hearing held by the Zoning Board of Adjustment concerning the Mayor Northam stated the Council would consider the appointments to the Gas Board and Civic Mayor Northam asked whether the Council wanted to continue to participate in the ACE (Alabama Communities of Excellence) Program. It was the consensus of the Council for the City to  the boards and their operation. appeal oft the issuance ofal building permit. Center Board att the Council meeting onl November 24th. ADJOURNMENT  There being noi further business to come before the Council, upon the motion to adjourn being made by Councilmember Nichols and seconded by Councilmember Whiteside, it was unanimously adopted.
