Work Session City Hall Fayette, Alabama July 29,2021 The City Council of the City of Fayette held a work session at 5:00 o'clock, p.m. on July 29, Upon roll call the following were found to be present: Mayor Rod Northam, Councilmembers Virettia L. Whiteside, Eddy Campbell, Tommy Williams, Aliska) Hughes-Monroe and. Jerry Nichols. Also present were City Clerk Dawn Clapp, City Attorney Dale Lawrence and] Fire Chief Shannon Taylor. The following were also present: Mr. David Thornell, Mr. Willie Ivey, Mrs. Cathy Robertson, Mrs. Kelley Kearney, Mrs. Donna Kerr, Ms. Valerie Branyon, Mrs. Deana Northam, Mr. Nathan Gann, Ms.. Julia Miranda, Mr. Floyd Rodgers, Ms. Kathryn Stowe, Mrs. Holly Fisher and two others. The opening prayer was given by Councilmember Tommy Williams. Thel Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Tommy Williams. 2021, int the Council Chambers oft the City Hall. Mayor Northam announced a quorum was present and the meeting was open for the transaction Mayor Rodl Northam and ACE Coordinator Daniel White reviewed with the Council the top eight Mr. White said the ACE program requires the City to update and implement its Strategic Plani in ordert tol keepi its designation as an ACEC City. He reviewed the eight priorities. They are as follows: 1. Identify properties for future industrial development and/or new spec. buildings and ensure 2. Increase regulation/enforvement ofl landlords who do not maintain their properties. 3. Provide diverse housing opportunities for young people and families. 4. Expand the network oft trails for walking, hiking and biking. 5. Develop an affordable and effective regional transportation service. Deliver Quality Government Services tol Fayette Residents 6. He stated Fayette is the only city ofi its size that has not annexed property int the last ten years.
