Pettway City Clerk Jerry Taylor Chief of Police AGENDA FOR THE CITY OF CREOLA COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT CREOLA CITY HALL ON February 23, 2012 @ 7:00PM Mayor called the meeting to order Councilman Ivy gave the invocation. Upon the call ofroll, the following were: found to be present: Councilman R. Walker Councilman K. Walker Councilman Ivy Councilman Moss Councilman Howell Mayor Nelson absent City clerk and City attorney was present. Minutes from the council meeting held February 9, 2012 were presented. Councilman Moss made a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Councilman R. Walker seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENSADRESSING THE COUNCIL Mr. Don Moss, the building inspector asked if Mr. Erwin was able to bring a decision back to council about him taking a city vehicle home. Mr. Erwin states that he has not had a chance to get an answer and will try to have one by next meeting. RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS No business PLANNING COMMITTEE Councilman Howell states that the board has ai meeting February 28 at 6pm. ZONING BOARD OFA ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION No business Councilman Howell states that the park is full ofkids and the park is staying clean. Councilman Ivy asked if the dugout benches were fixed. Councilman Howell states he talked about that earlier and will be set next week. The poles need tol have concrete around both. Councilman K. Walker asked ift they were putting tin on top of dugout to cover. Councilman Howell will check into which material will be the best way to coveri it. UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZENS about the leak and who is responsible to fix. Councilman Moss states that window has been sealed and will check to see ifs silicon is holding. Mr. Don Moss will call and talk to the contractor that built the building. Council has a discussion FINANCE No business POLICE AND FIRE officer position. Councilman Howell states that officer Moody resigned last meeting. Councilman K. Walker second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman R. Councilman Howell made a motion to hire Officer Ken Thomas from part time to a full time Councilman Howell made a motion to purchase tires for car 4 at $102.00 each on state contract. Councilman K. Walker asked who has fuel cards in the city. Chief Taylor states that each vehicle has a fuel card and the card stays with the vehicle. Chief states that a biweekly city from Fuel man is sent to the city and is monitored.. report No business for fire department ChiefTaylor. asked for ChiefReeves to get permission to bid out air packs. Walker states that we got little rain and the drains were taken care ofby the street Councilman Walker states that the ditches on Penny Lane need to be dug out sO will drain they ADDITIONAL NOTES Councilman Ivy asked latest on school. Mr. Tim Ryals gave some property that is up for schools tol build that does not pertain to the Satsuma/ Mobile county school district situation. There is no solid information on Satsuma school system. Councilman K. Walker asked Mr. Erwin if he has kids in Satsuma schools but doesn't live in Satsuma, Can Satsuma School kick his kids out oft their school system? Mr. Erwin states yes.
