Upon the call ofr roll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilman R. Walker Councilman K. Walker Councilman Ivy Councilman Moss Councilman Howell City clerk and City attorney was present. Minutes from the council meeting held January 26, 2012 were presented. Councilman Moss made ai motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Councilman R. Walker seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENS. ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL Mr. Heathcoe states that a window is leaking in the SAIL center. Mayor states that Bobby or Mayor states that Commissioner Ludgood called and states that they will be ai meeting to vote on traffic signal at Jackson Rd and Hwy 43 on Monday. Mayor will go to meeting and get details. Mayor went to meeting with Commissioner Ludgood and said city may be on list for street David will check into it. striping money thru CDBG (community Development Block Grant). PLANNING COMMITTEE Mayor states that the meeting for this month has been changed to 2/28/12 due to Mardi Gras holiday. No business ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS. AND RECREATION Councilman K. Walker states he changed his mind about donating flag to the SAIL center, He states to he will let city buy one since they have plenty of money. UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZENS Mayor states that the Alabama Power business license came in totaling $71,000, which pays AMIC bill that is $48,000 and Workers comp that is $15,000. Mayor states as of right now a bill for the Crenshaw lawsuit as not come in. FINANCE Councilman Ivy made a motion to pay bills Councilman Moss second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Mayor states that it is time to put streets on the pay as you go program. Mayor asked council to start thinking about which streets. Councilman K. Walker asked about doing drainage work. Mayor states that pay as you go does not do drainage. Councilman Ivy states that the chiefhas his car. POLICE AND FIRE Councilman Ivy made a motion to accept the resignation of Officer Ronald Moody in good standing on 2/12/12. Councilman Howell second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Mayor recognizes Chief. Jeff] Reeve's as being the cities certified fire investigator as of2/13/12. Chief Reeve's 's states firefighter 160 has started and everyone should be certified within the next Chief Reeves needs to meet with Councilman K. Walker Monday about the sewer lines. Chief Reeves states that at the last council meeting he asked permission to send out bids for a breathing air compressor. Chief Reeves states that they solicited 3 bids and only one: submitted. Mrs. Kim opened bid. Chief Reeves read bid from Sunbelt Fire in Fairhope, Alabama. The base bid $39,000 for a unit 3 gallon single 3 1/2 compressor. This is the amount allotted from FEMA 31 months which is good for fire grants. so it meets the requirements. Councilman Ivy made a motion to accept bid from Sunbelt fire. Councilman Howell second all favored, none opposed, motion carried. STREETS or back hoe. Councilman R. Walker wants to buy back hoe. Mayor states which one do we need more tractor ADDITIONAL NOTES Erwin will bring back to next meeting. Mayor wants to know if it is ok for Mr. Moss, the building inspector to take jeep home. Mr. Mr. Erwin would like to attend conference in Hover he will bring paper work at the next meeting. Adjournment Councilman Moss made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman R.
