Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilman K. Walker Councilman Ivy Councilman Moss Councilman Howell Councilman R. Walker City clerk absent Minutes from the council meeting held February 23,2012 were presented. Councilman Ivy made ai motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting. Councilman Moss seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENS ADDRESSINGTHE COUNCIL states that they always do a great job. Mr. Ryals states that the street department did a great job on cleaning the ditches out. Mayor RESOLUTIONS,ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS Mayor presented the County junk ordinance. The Mayor and council had a general discussion about ordinance. Council declines to vote int the. Junk ordinance. Mayor and council discuss making the garbage pickup mandatory and Councilman Howell spoke about sending a flyer out with all the prices of trash service. Councilman Howell states to see if Mr. Mark Erwin, the attorney can come up with an ordinance for mandatory trash for all citizens in Creola. Councilman Howell will bring something back on prices and garbage schedules at next meeting. Council states that the trash is sitting to long on the streets. Councilman Howell will talk to advance disposal. Council had additional discussion about the county junk resolution, asked if city could do something similar as well. Council requested that Jay Ross come and explain the details of resolution at next meeting and options for getting something for the city. No business Councilman Howell states that Bobby said that the ball teams are doing a great job cleaning up UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZENS FINANCE Councilman Moss made ai motion toj pay bills as presented. Councilman Ivy seconded, all favored none opposed, motion carried. Mayor states that the cities computer was trying to be hacked into. Regions bank did a good job by notifying the city clerk of the attempt. The person will be tracked down and hopefully prosecuted if they can pinpoint hacker. They knew the activity was out of the ordinary for the city and froze everything immediately. POLICE AND FIRE Councilman Ivy states that the chief is at a meeting in Florida pertaining to grants in Mount Vernon. Fire Department didn'thave any business. STREETS needed. Mayor states that the city got approved for $80,000 from the CBGD grants for street striping. Mayor states that he was told that some of the money can go toward moving water lines if Mayor presented figures for Bond issue to pay off old bond and get additional $400,000 to finish paving streets. Monthly note will remain the same but will extend the amount of time about 15 years. Mayor states for council to look over and discuss at the next meeting. Council K. Walker wants drainage not streets paved, drainage first. ADDITIONAL NOTES Tim Ryals stated that there is gas lines showing on one of the streets, council asked Sgt Davis to check into and get with city clerk to report to Gas Company. Councilman Moss made ai motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Howell second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Adjournment
