Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilman R. Walker Councilman K. Walker Councilman Ivy Councilman Moss Councilman Howell City clerk was present. Minutes from the council meeting held August 9, 2012 were presented. Councilman R. Walker made ai motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting held. Councilman Moss seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENS ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL No business No Business RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS PLANNING COMMITTEE Mrs. Greene states that they will have a meeting with S.A.R.P.C. Mrs. Greene states that the meeting will be the 3rd Tuesday in September. Mayor states that Mr. Levi Marks from Ducey Rd would like to be annexed into the city. Mayor states that he and Mr. Marks will talk to county to see what is going on and what steps are: necessary to annex. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION No business Mayor thanked the street department for doing a great job on getting the insulation out of the Mayor states that the weeds are trimmed and asked Bobby to get some sand to put around the Councilman K. Walker made a motion to give $1500.00 of the $5,000.00 to the Soccer team Mrs. Kim states that that motion cannot be valid because the $5,000.00 was donated to the city. FINANCE POLICE AND FIRE Fire Chief Reeves needs a vehicle for patrol as well as for the fire chief vehicle to go to meetings, etc...Fire Chief Reeve's states that he could get a decent used one for $10-$12000, 00. Chief states that he will check with Hoover department to see ifi they have any vehicles available. Chief Reeve's states that 7 fire fighters are 4 classes away from being fire fighter one and that will put half the department being certified Fire fighter ones, which will help with getting grants. Chief Reeves states that they finished out the grant from last year and now they have all new air packs. Chieft thanked the council for getting the rooffixed in the fire department. Councilman R. Walker states he would like to the city to get some kind of drainage. Mayor states that Mr. Kirby Latham with Thompson Engineer is drawing up some plans to see Mayor states to bring more prices back to the meeting. STREETS what it would cost to start. Mayor and council have general discussion on the drainage issue. Councilman R. Walker states that the city needs ai tractor. Ms. Tedder would like to make a complaint on a police officer. Mrs. Kim will issue a complaint form. company name and the truck number. ADDITIONAL NOTES Mr. Tim Ryals states that the cement trucks are still coming through the city and he has the Councilman K. Walker states he installed 2 political signs in front of the city hall and would like Mayor explained why signs are across the road but they cannot be on public or city property. Ms. Bryant asked if Officer Gary Davis can campaign on duty. Mayor states he has spoken with Mr. Davis about how to campaign and it cannot be done while he is on duty and he has not had a report of Mr. Davis doing SO. Mrs. Bryant stated that Mr. Davis shouldn't have to be talked to more than once. The mayor stated that Mr. Davis is aware of the rules and to his knowledge he Mr. Wayne Fisher asked if there are new power lines on Crisswell. Mayor states that it is, they Councilman R. Walker states that he had gone out of town for a few days and when he came home his water was orange and brown. Councilman R. Walker states he called Montgomery to ask when they flush the lines out; and was told the water company is not required to flush the lines at specific times. Was advised to make a formal complaint and save the water to show to the water company. Councilman Walker stated that the lines and area for his toilet were pure black at times, Mrs. Bryant stated that he should clean his toilet more. Councilman Walker stated that its outside the toilet and it is from the condition of the water leaving the stains. Mrs. tol know why the city clerk removed them. has not violated campaigning rules. - are getting ready to pave the street. Bryant states to report the water to the water board ift there is a problem.
