Bill Chambers gave invocation. Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilman R. Walker Councilman K. Walker Councilman Ivy Councilman Moss Councilman Howell City clerk was] present. absent Minutes from the council meeting held July 12, 2012 were presented. Councilman Moss made a motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting held. Councilman R. Walker seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Mr. Tim Ryals states that there is trash in front oft the double wide on Lawshe dr. Don Moss, building inspector states that he has called the owners and it will be picked up. Councilman K. Walker asked about the citizen that had a citation for his yard ordinance. Mayor and Don Moss states he will have to be back in court August 20, 2012. Kim states she will Mr. Tim Ryals states that the concrete trucks are still coming thru the city even with the city ordinance being in effect. Chief states that when he sees them to call the station because he has had officers on close patrol and they haven'treported any of the concrete trucks. Councilman R. Walker states that a loaded truck is still parking in the church parking lot and Chief says that he will check into this again. Spoke with company before but will do SO again. Councilman K. Walker asked ifat truck comes thru with 2 axles -can someone weigh it. CITIZENS, ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL check. Chief states he would have to check with DOTI because the city does not have equipment for that. DOT may not hold up one truck ifi no one is in the area. RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS Mayor states resolution 08-01-12 to appoint election officials for the 2012 election at the SAIL Councilman Moss made motion to approve resolution 08-01-12 for the election year 2012. Councilman R. Walker second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Mayor states they have an invitation to the Satsuma High School Ribbon cutting celebration for Mayor stated he sent letters to state representatives concerning traffic signal at Jackson Rd. Rev. Chambers thanked Ms. Green for all the hard work on the Skinners issue. center. the Satsuma School system on. August 13@6:30pm PLANNING COMMITTEE Rev. Chamber states they are still working on Rules & Regulations for issuing permits and Councilman K. Walker states he has a friend that has bought property next to the Dead lake marina RV Park. The friend would like to know if the county has to put up a privacy fence between the two since one is commercial and one residential to keep people off1 his property from the park. Rev. Chambers state that the board will talk about that at the next meeting. Councilman Ivy asked how the music was at the Cajun restaurant. Mayor and chief went and zoning. spoke with the owner and the music has been turned down. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION environmental funds to use at the creek. No business Mayor states that he has spoken with someone with Prax Air about drafting a letter to request Councilman Ivy made a motion to put bids out for the dug outs and to remove insulation from the pavilion. Councilman Ivy withdrew motion UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN Councilman Moss states all leaks are stopped in SAIL center building and got ice maker for building. FINANCE Councilman Moss made ai motion to accept the financial report. Councilman Ivy second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Moss made aj motion toj pay bills as presented. Councilman Ivy seconded, all favored none opposed, motion carried. Councilman R. Walker asked about the amount in the 4 cent account. Kim states that the money was used on the: rocks that Councilman K. Walker requested. POLICE AND FIRE ChiefTaylor states that police car 10 needs manifolds drilled out and will cost $400.00. Councilman Ivy made ai motion to repair car 10. Councilman Moss second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman K. Walker states for Chieft to check into the stud rod. Councilman Ivy states that the Magistrate and Judge need to attend a conference for continuing Councilman Ivy made a motion for Linda and Judge Ross to attend the conference with 21 rooms. education in Hoover, Al. they will need two rooms, the cost will be $550.00 Councilman Moss second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. STREETS Lake and Old Hwy 43. Councilman R. Walker states that no parking sign on the comer is needed at Corner of Dead Councilman R. Walker asked who they would need to talk to about bringing a Chick Fila in the city. ADDITIONAL NOTES Rev. Bill Chambers asked what was the status on the smoking ordinance. Mayor spoke with a few businesses in the city and willl bring back to another meeting. Councilman K. Walker doesn't think city should regulate smoking in business, he thinks the Mr. Tim Ryals states that a pot hole isi in front ofTruck Company on Old Hwy 43. Councilman K.
