Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilman R. Walker Councilman K. Walker Councilman Ivy Councilman Moss Councilman Howell City Clerk was present. Minutes from the council meeting held to canvass election on September 27,2012. Councilman R. Walker made ai motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting held, Councilman Howell seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENS, ADDRESSING: THE COUNCIL Mr. Billy Walker asked what could be done for Walker Lane to get rocks on it. Mayor explained the process that he is trying to go thru to find the person to get a letter about right of way from Mr. Stuart. A general discussion about the road right of ways and access. Mayor asked the Walker family to get their deeds and see where they need to start to get Walker Lane to be public and not private. RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS Mayor stated that Feed Store Saloon is requesting reissuance of their liquor license through the ABC Board, the ABC board has approved it pending acceptance by the city due to the this business being located in Creola Police Jurisdiction. Mayor passes gavel to Pro-Tem Ivy Councilman Kenny Walker made ai motion to accept the request for Feed Store Saloon a liquor license. Don Nelson seconded, 4 approve, 2 oppose, approved by majority vote. A general discussion oft the License oft the Feed Store Saloon was held. Councilman R. Walker asked if all issues had to go before council. Mayor states no just issues ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION No business Councilman Howell states Major Holt will get information to Kim about prices for goals and prices for equipment. A Discussion about pilings being removed from the Gunnison Creek Park. UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN No business FINANCE Next meeting POLICE AND FIRE Lenzing Fiber donated $300.00 to Volunteer Fire Department. Walker was told 7 full times and 2 part times. Councilman K. Walker asked how many full time police officers the city had. Councilman K. Councilman K. Walker states that the city needs more police protection. Need to hire more officers. Councilman K. Walker asked if the officer were working very much overtime. Councilman Ivy states that they are looking for one additional officer at this time. STREETS Councilman R. Walker is tired of Axis reaping benefits of] Police department protection and Fire Mayor states he has talked to Mr. Bryan Kegley about Bell drive, the contract was awarded Mayor states that Criswell, Quinley and Gurthrie will finish utilities this week and will be advertising within 2 weeks. Mayor states that the city got $90,000 from community blocks grant was awarded earlier to restriping streets and now the Mayor is filling out survey form to finish out the project. The street that does not have to have a survey filled out is Lister Dairy, I-65 Service Road N, Ellison Ave, Riol Honda and Sailor Rd, Madrid St. The street that have to have a survey is Carroll Lane , Smith Rd and Creola Dr, Hardy Dr, Ken Moss Ct, N Bentley Rd, Skidmore St, Ward lane, Tolbert Rd, Halls Branch Rd, Jackson Rd, and Dead lake Rd, Mr. Tim Ryals states that the cement trucks are still rolling through the city. Mayor states the owner will be at the next meeting. Mayor states that he and the Chief are discussing truck route. department without paying fori it. Tuesday by county Councilman K. Walker states that pot holes need to be patched. ADDITIONAL NOTES Councilman Ivy states that the Mayor can apply for BP money for some city projects but he doesn't know the details, Councilman Walker stated that he had gotten his BP money SO the city should get theirs. Councilman Ivy would like to request 2 fire trucks from the BP money. Adjournment Councilman Moss made ai motion to adjourn the meeting.
