Chambers gave invocation. Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilwoman Greene Councilman Heathcoe Councilman Ivy Councilman Moss Councilman Howell was absent City Clerk was present. Minutes from the council meeting held on September 27,2012. Councilman Moss made aj motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting held. CITIZENSADDRESSING THE COUNCIL Mayor states that there will be a planning committee meeting after the council meeting tonight. Mr. Rory Cassidy with Republic Services which use to be BFI states that they would to participate in the bid process when the option comes available. Mr. Cassidy states there are several options that could be looked at when the time comes. Mrs. Linda Walker spoke with Councilwoman Greene about a Christmas parade. If Council approves they would like to start a parade at the park and end at park, on December 1, 2012, starting at 3pm and the entry fee would be waved for the first several years. Mrs. Walker states in ai few years they would like to start a vendor set up at the park before and after the pàrade. Councilwoman Greene states that the community group held a costume contest at Hwy 43 studio and the turnout was great, a lot ofbusinesses donated prizes for the event. Mrs. Linda Walker spoke on the Toys for Tots program being sponsored by the Gulf Coast Opry to raise toys for the needy, encouraged everyone to bring a toy. RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS No business PLANNING COMMITTEE Rev. Chambers states they have ai meeting after council meeting. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS. AND RECREATION being played on. No business Mayor states that the community day was a big success and the playground equipment is up and UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN Ms. Tew bought light at Criswell street. FINANCE Councilwoman Greene presented bills and finances. Councilman Moss made a motion to accept the financial report. Councilman Heathcoe seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Ivy made aj motion to pay bills as presented. Councilwoman Greene seconded, all favored none opposed, motion carried Mayor introduced the budget 2013 year and asked to council to be ready to vote on next meeting. POLICE AND FIRE No business forj police department. clerk for information. Chief Reeves states to the new business that the department has the nox box to get with the city Fire department Christmas dinner party will be held December 11 at the senior building. Councilman Ivy made a motion for the: fire department to be in the Satsuma Christmas parade. Chief] Reeve's reminds council about vehicle purchase. Councilman Heathcoe second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. STREETS Councilman Heathcoe states all equipment is ok and the street department is doing a goodj job. Mayor states that Oak tree Lane and Brown is going on the Pay as you go program, Lister will go Mayor states Bell dr isi int the process ofl being paved. Tim Ryals states that Mount Vernon has annexed to Salco Rd, Chief states that this is mostly Don Moss, the building inspector asked the council ift they would approve for him to receive the money that the city pays for his health insurance because he is approved for Medicare and just add it to his paycheck.
