Rev. Chambers gave invocation. Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilwoman Greene Councilman Heathcoe Councilman Ivy Councilman Howell Councilman Moss was absent. City Clerk was absent. Mayor asked to keep Councilman Moss inj prayer. Minutes from the council meeting held on April 9, 2013. Councilman Ivy made a motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting held. Councilwoman Heathcoe seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENS. ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL Ms. Linda Robinson, Dr. Walters and. Jimmy Vaton with the Satsuma School system were present at the meeting. On behalf of the Satsuma School board, Ms. Robinson addressed the citizens and states that they are concerned about the Creola children. Ms. Robinson states that they are available for questions to address any concerns. Mr. Vaton followed talking about future goals of Mayor addressed letter that was posted in the city by Mayor of Satsuma. Mayor states that he did speak with the Mayor elect at the time. Mayor Nelson states that they did speak about the annexation but Mayor Nelson states that he said then as well as know that it is the citizen's decision as well as the council and that was it. Mayor states that the annexation of Creola with any city has not come to the council floor to be discussed. Mayor opened floor for questions and the system. comments about the letter from Satsuma. Mayor states within 60 days there should be a meeting with Saraland School system and if the citizens would like to attend there would have to be annexation involved. Mayor states that this council has not addressed any annexation with any city. Mayor states that the only reason he sits on this council is to do what is in the best interest Councilman Howell states he was insulted by this letter.
