Rev. Chambers gave invocation. Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilwoman Greene Councilman Heathcoe Councilman Ivy Councilman Howell Councilman Moss was absent. City Clerk was present. Mayor gave update on Councilman Moss and Mr. Frank Hammond. Minutes from the council meeting held on March 28, 2013. Councilman Heathcoe made ai motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting held. Councilwoman Greene seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Howell made a motion to introduce the ordinance of annexation of property on Radcliff! Rd. Councilman Heathcoe second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. It needs to be posted in three public places to be presented at the next meeting. Councilman Howell made a motion to introduce the smoking ordinance. Councilman Heathcoe second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Mayor states Mobile County recommends for the city to introduce the nuisance ordinance sO the county can assist the city in certain areas. Councilman Heathcoe made a motion to introduce the nuisance ordinance Councilwoman Greene second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Mayor presented proclamation from MADD (Mothers against Drunk Driver) signed and posted. MADD will have a community event to provide information for power talk 21 on April 21, 2012. PLANNING COMMITTEE Rev. Chambers states that a meeting 4/16/13 at 6pm Rev. Chambers states that a young lady wants to put storage building her on property on Ellison Ave for a relative to live in. The lady states that this is legal up in Jackson County, Don Moss, building inspector must get letter of approval from state and come before council proving that it isl legal for aj person to occupy a storage building as a residence. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION No business No business soccer: field. Mayor states he spoke with Robinson Fence who gave an estimate for putting a fence around the Mayor states that bleachers were competed today at the park. Mayor states a grant was presented to the county for the Crenshaw Park. UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN No business FINANCE No business POLICE AND FIRE Councilman Ivy states that they got the cars for the police department from the county. Chief Taylor states that a community watch meeting last week, had a real good turn out and another meeting planned for this Thursday at 6pm. No business for the Fire department. STREETS Councilman Heathcoe states the streets looking good. Mayor states that the paving project is moving slowly. ADDITIONAL NOTES Engineer will do the project. Mayor states that $80,000 in CBDG money for stripping, Mr. Kirby Latham with Thompson Mayor states that the shed for the Kubota tractor will be here April 16, 2013. Mayor states that he will talk to Commissioner Ludgood about other property on Radcliff Road Mayor states there is a sink hole at the end of Jackson Road and he has called state. Mayor states that ini the near future the citizens have an opportunity to meet with Dr. Vickers and Councilwoman Greene states that the community development group has several functions *Yard sale will be. Mayor states he would like for Chief Hammond to speak on behalf of the city to Comcast cable lines for certain parts oft the city that does notl have high speed internet and cable.
