Councilwoman Howell seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Heathcoe made a motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting held with the exception ofcorrecting the date. CITIZENS. ADDRESSINGTHE COUNCIL Mobile County Health Department presented a certificate of appreciation to the city for taking a stance for the health of people ofMobile County by adopting the smoking ordinance. Mayor project statuses *Mayor states that on Quinley and Criswell, Walton construction is over there working now. Mayor states that on Guthrie there was an issue and the Mayor has set up a meeting next week with the head engineer, to walk the grounds. Councilman Moss. No business UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN FINANCE Councilwoman Greene presented bills and finances. Councilman Heathcoe made a motion to accept the financial report. Councilman Ivy seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Ivy made ai motion to pay bills as presented. Councilman Howell seconded, all favored none opposed, motion carried. Mrs. Davis gave update on the community development group. Councilwoman Greene states that they have fingerprinting kits for kids and a demonstration from the K-9 dog razor at the yard sale event on June 1. POLICE. AND FIRE Councilman Ivy states that the police car unit 9: needs a transmission. (123,000 miles) the cost is $550 to replace transmission and $200.00 labor total $750.00 Councilman Ivy made ai motion to pay $750.00 to fix unit 9. Councilwoman Greene second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Howell states he has been asked about what the dollar from the water bill is being used for and the balance on the account. Councilman Howell asked the fire department to bring as statement. Mayor states that the city has no control over this account. Iti is between Lemoyne Councilwoman Green states that the next community meeting is. June 20 at 6pm at the city hall. Councilman Heathcoe stated that the street department is busy cutting grass and keeping the street cleaned. The street department is down to one man. Councilwoman Greene made a motion to purchase a weed eater for street department. Councilman Ivy second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. water, fire department and the citizens. STREETS Councilman Ivy made a motion for the bridge to be inspected by Thomas engineering and Kirby Lathan. Councilman Heathcoe second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Mayor states that they have 3 estimates on drainage- $2,500.00 for the ditches on Ellison Ave. $800.00 for the ditches in front of Assembly of God and $5,500.00 for the culvert at intersection of Old Hwy 43 and Dead lake Rd. Mayor and council have a general discussion on which ditches to fix. Councilman Howell made a motion to fix ditches for drainage purposes on Ellison Ave and Old Hwy 43. Councilman Ivy second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. ADDITIONAL NOTES next meeting.
