Mr. Randy Fleming gave invocation. Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Mayor Nelson Councilwoman Greene Councilman Heathcoe Councilman Ivy Councilwoman Moss Councilman Howell City clerk was present Minutes from the council meeting held on, July 24, 2013 were presented. Councilman Heathcoe made ai motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting. Councilwoman Greene seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENS. ADDRESSINGTHE COUNCIL Mr. Quin Hilyer spoke about running for congress and would like the support of the voters on September 24, 2013. RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS Mayor spoke on the Ordinance 8-10-27, which states that business and new homes where sewer is available would have to hook up to sewer but citizens that are here are grandfathered in until Mayor explained that the signed copy is not available. Mayor spoke with attorney about signing ac copy of the ordinance. Mayor states that the council needs to ratify ordinance 8-10-27 which was passed in the council meeting on June 12, 2008 and this is replacing the lost signed copy. sewer tank was no longer in working order. Councilman Howell made a motion to sign copy ofOrdinance 8-10-271 to record. Councilwoman Moss second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. PLANNING COMMITTEE Rev. Bill Chambers states that the Planning committee had a public hearing about changing Councilwoman Greene made a motion to add to table of permitted uses for R-1 and R-2 in the some wording in the ordinance to cover home businesses in R-1 and R-2. Councilwoman Moss second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilwoman Greene states that a special meeting is set for Monday at 5:00pm. zoning ordinance book. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION No business Councilman Howell states that the community group wants to put benches around park. Mayor states that the Community day is set for 11/2/13. Mayor asked Kim to reserve park. Councilwoman Greene states that the CCDG Yard sale with k-9 event is for 9/7/13. UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN Councilwoman Moss states that the ice machine is having problems. Councilman Howell will go down to Chaves and see what can be done. Mayor states that ifyou see a street light out to report outage to city hall. FINANCE No report. POLICE. AND FIRE Police -No business Fire- no business STREETS Councilman Heathcoe states the Mayor has been cutting grass. Councilman Heathcoe states that the new culvert at Old Hwy 43 and Dead Lake Rd is helping Mayor states that striping project should be inj paper this week for Hardy Dr, Old Hwy 43, Lister Mayor states that on Quinnelly and Criswell Dr is still in the process of being worked on. The Mayor states that the council is in the process ofinterviewing attorneys for the city. Mayor asked Councilman Heathcoe to get another councilmember to check into right of way and with drainage. Dairy Rd and 1-65 services Rd. rain is holding it up. bring back to next meeting. ADDITIONAL NOTES Adjournment Mayor stated that he would look into the Hicks pallet issue.
