FINANCE No business COMMUNITY GROUP Counciwoman Greene states that they have several awards to give out. Mrs. Venus Davis, Mrs. Casie Bennet and Mrs. Becky Smith gave out the Business of year 2013 award to Axis machine and welding Shop and gave out the citizen of the year 2013 award to The Axis machine and welding shop gave a $1,000.00 donation to the Creola community group. Mrs. Fay Mathers, Mrs. Linda Walker, Mrs. Lorraine Bryant, Mr. Bill Lawshe, Mr. John Grimes, Mrs. Casie Bennett, Mrs. Marty Henderson, Mrs. Lona Cofield, Mr. Jeff Reeves. Mrs. Venus Davis states that Lenzing fiber donated $300.00 to the community group. Councilwoman Greene states they went to a municipality meeting in Chickasaw and Mobile County Bicentennial is giving out historical markers to every municipality. The price of the marker is $2151.36ifwel had to purchase it. The marker has to be placed in front oft the city hall. Cm 3.27.14 Page 2 POLICE AND FIRE Councilman Ivy made ai motion to hire officer Rockhold as a part time officer. Councilwoman Greene jecond, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Ivy asked Chief to explain about the smart phone app. ChiefTaylor explained the smart phone app is for police departments. It will list real time crime report, it will have the most wanted list, warrants, will have text messages for emergency that are taking place. The app can receive anonymous tips for criminal activity. The cost of the app is $1000.00 year but they are only asking the city to pay $200.00 for this year. Councilman Ivy made ai motion toj purchase the app for the police department. Councilman Heathcoe second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. STREETS Councilman Heathcoe states that the streets finally got striped. Councilman Heathcoe gave credit Mayor had meeting with Mr. Chalmette and Mrs. Fay with. Aldot, the traffic light on Hwy 43 at Mr. Kenny Walker asked about Crisswell Street. Mayor states they are not done yet they do not Mr. Crisswell met with Mr.Vapoal and there is an issue with planting grass because the growing season isj just coming back. Mrs. Casie Bennet asked on February 27, the mayor put a halt on inspections outside of city limits Mrs. Bennet wanted to know what became of this. Mayor states that the city is doing inspections outside the city limits, in the police jurisdiction. Mrs. Bennei asked why the Mayor tried to stop it. Mayor states that he was not trying to stop it, he just wanted to make sure that we Mrs. Carol Heathcoe asked questions about tar sands.
