Upon the call ofroll, the following were: found to be present:  Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Nelson Councilwoman Greene Councilman Heathcoe Councilman Ivy Councilwoman Moss Councilman Howell  Attorey Johnny Lane and city clerk were present.  Minutes from the council meeting held on, June 26, 2014 were presented. Councilwoman Howell seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried.  Councilman Heathcoe made a motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting with the  change on page 2 ofRev. Chamber's name. CITIZENSADDRESSINGTHE COUNCIL  Mrs. Becky Smith asked about flags for median. Councilwoman Greene states that the Creola Community Development group is working with Charles Perry for that project already.  RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS  Kim explained tar sands, according to the AG opinion, the city can pass the resolution showing that they city as a whole does not support the Tar Sands, but understand that the city cannot stop or regulate Tar Sands. JML stats it is no more than a feel good resolution, just a piece of paper. Mayor spoke with Kirby about Ducey Road and will have decision next meeting.  Cm 7.10.14  Page 1    By law we are a town, the Mayor would like to go to one meeting a month, after a short discussion it was decided the council will stay with 2 meeting change workshop to 5:30pm.  PLANNING COMMITTEE  Rev. Bill Chambers says there will be work shop at 5:30 Tuesday the. Jull 15.  ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION  No business No business  UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN  Advance disposal says they have about 460 customers in the area; Councilwoman Greene is Accents for Windows have a quote for about $390 for all windows at SAIL center. Councilwoman Moss made a motion for Windows to be tinted at the Center.  working on a senior discount for customers 62 and over.  Councilwoman Greene seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Freida will pay out Councilwoman Moss for Cobert bending to fix metal piece on side door ifless than $300.00.  ofSAIL center account.  Councilman Howell second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilwoman Moss made ai motion to accept the financial report. Councilwoman Greene second, all favored, none opposed, motion carried.  FINANCE  Troop 32 would like to work on a fitness trail. 4 cluster 2-3 stn, monkey bars, exercise equipment. Goal is $5,000.00 Councilwoman Greene stated he has to ask for donations and Councilman Howell states that it is a very good idea. Mayor states he will be able to help.  orchestrate the entire project. COMMUNITY GROUP Total amount in CCDG fund is $2041.54. POLICE AND FIRE  Councilman Ivy made a motion to pay $1,117.00 to: repair truck fire truck. Councilman Howell seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried.  A citizen asked can we start collecting money on the water bill to start a full time Fire Dept. There was general discussion about this subject. Citizens also asked ift the city could be notified in advance of meetings and upcoming decisions of the city. Mayor stated that the meetings are every 2nd and 4th Thursday, same time each time and that there are notices posted, as required in  3 public places and it has been that way for over 20 years. ADDITIONAL NOTES  Councilwoman Greene - Jeff and troop 32 are re-flooring a trailer for their use, she challenged Citizen asked what is the dream for future Creola, besides Saraland. She asked if the mayor would have meetings to sit down with the citizens and council and make an effort to work on the Tim Ryals asked if the inspector could look into abandoned homes. Mayor said he will ask Inspector about condemning them at the owner expense. Mayor states he needs to get with  longevity of Creola as an independent city.  inspector.
