Upon the call ofroll, the following were found to be present: Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Nelson was absent Councilwoman Greene Councilman Heathcoe Councilman Ivy Councilwoman Moss Councilman Howell The city clerk was present and City attorney was absent. Councilman Howell made a motion to accept the minutes from the meeting on 11/13/14. Counciwoman Moss seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. CITIZENSADDRESSINGTHE COUNCIL Councilwoman Greene made an announcement that the Bicentennial committee was present and thanked them all, she stated that the committee had donated a sign to the City of Creola and it reflected the first mayor "Jim Smith". The council thanked the committee for such a generous and remarkable donation to the city and thanked the members of Jim Smiths family that were all present to honor the acceptance of the sign. The sign will be placed at the front of the city hall building and urged everyone to come by and admire the sign at any time. The council thanked the following for attendance and the organizations they represented; Nancy Johnson from the County Commission Mary Atchinson- Bicentennial Commission Council asked all the Smith family to stand. Kendell Dees Ruth Smokes RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OTHER BUSINESS Mr. Fisher asked about driveway, Councilman Howell states road has not signed off on it, should be done by the spring, the city will be notified prior to completion so that all corrections will be made. Councilwoman Greene motioned to accept petition of Susan Jett into the city. Councilman Howell seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilwoman Greene motioned to introduce ordinance to annex the property of Susan Jett. Councilman Howell seconded, all favored, motion carried, none opposed, motion carried. Item will be posted and brought back to next meeting for approval. place of Mount Vernon, Creola has not hosted one in 4 years. City was approached to host municipal dinner in September combine with Mount Vernon or in PLANNING COMMITTEE Councilwoman Greene has the disk with zoning board and corrections, wants to pass book as is. Council will discuss changes and bring back to next meeting. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS No business CREOLA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP Thanked everyone for participating in parade and tree lighting 12/4/14, toys for tots, toy drive (Creola and Axis) pacers 500 and police department and fire department, river delta, food bank collected 581 pounds offood. The community group has a total of$1632.29 PARKS AND RECREATION No business UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZEN Councilwoman Moss states that on. 12/18/14 the Sail center will have its Christmas party. FINANCE Councilman Howell made ai motion to accept the financial report. Councilman Ivy seconded, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. Councilman Howell made ai motion to pay the bills that were presented. Councilwoman Moss seconded, all favored, motion carried. POLICE AND FIRE and parts to: fix ladder truck. STREETS Councilman Ivy announced that Chief Jeff Reeves says that axis machine will donate time labor Councilman Heathcoe states that slag is $5.00 ton. 158 tons less than 1k. Tractor needs to be fixed but the council stated to wait until some other estimates are received, council stated that a lot of money has been put into the tractor and may need to branch out to a different mechanic to get the tractor inspected first. Councilmen Howell and Heathcoe stated that they will each seek out someone else and get an estimate or suggestion on the next step for Councilman Howell will get estimate from tractor equipment and councilman Heathcoe will the tractor. reach out to Mickey Moore. ADDITIONAL NOTES Councilman Howell needs a vole to start disc golf courses, he stated that the gentleman from the City of Chickasaw has volunteered to walk the city through the ordering process and installing Councilman Howell made a motion to use the park fund money to order and have 9 disk golf the 9 holes. stations at the park.
