CITIZENS ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL Mr. Barney March, runningi for circuit courtjudge for Mobile County, introduced himselfand: spoke about why hei is running in the election for circuit court judge. Mr. March is asking for your vote Mr. Flynn Christian, speaking on behalf ofa a St. Thomas Church in Chickasaw fundraiser. He is asking for the councilmembers to have a triathlon (which consist of running, swimming, and biking) in the city. Councilman Hadaway asked where the run and bike would take place. Mr. Christian states that the swim would be at Ski Chaste lake, Creola axis loop road. Mr. Christian states that this is not something that willl happen in 30 days, this is something that hei is proposing to do this time next year. Mayor states last year he contacted Betancourt and King to do the city's audit. Mayor states that when they took office the city did not have books, that everything wasi in folders. Mr. Betancourt is assisting usi in formulating a set ofbooks. The city purchased the part for $300.00 and Mr. Wayne Miller put it together. The zero turn is back running. Mayor states that the city will need a Zero -turn soon. Mr. Don Moss states that on April 16, 2018 they will have a meeting at the Creola Senior center about how to prolong the life of your septic system. A free septic tank pump out Mr. Moss also handed out some information on Fortified Home building and would like to adopt this program. It would save on the home owners insurance. Mayor states that this information isj just to make homeowners aware that iti is out there to help them. Mr. Moss would also like to adopt the Code 2015 book to do inspections. Attorney Mims states that when the book comes in they will adopt an ordinance of the Southern Standard Building Code 2015 and in the process of having conversations with voucher will be given only to qualified participants in attendance. UTILITIES AND SENIOR CITIZENS Counciwoman Greene states the next meeting will be April 17,2018 at 6pm. Ms. Hancock Councilwoman Moss states that they are having a senior and veterans breakfast June 16 Mayor states that they got the new grills in at Crenshaw park and the next day after they were put up someone vandalized them. Mayor states they are getting aj price to see what it would cost to put in a camera in the area. Mayor states that they have cameras on the bathrooms in the park, the senior building, city hall and the police department. Mr. Boucher states that the meeting is scheduled for May 21,2018 at 5:30pm. from 9-1lam. POLICE AND FIRE POLICE Mayor states that Chief Kirkland has been out for personal reasons for a few days and the other officers have been holding down things and doing a great job. Officer Turberville states that Officer Wentzell graduated the academy and will be back at work next week as a certified officer. Officer Bosarge will start the academy on April 30,2018. Officer Turberville gave an update on the cases they have handled within the last 2 weeks. Officer Turberville introduced Officer Bosarge and Officer Butterworth. Both officers will be going through the academy. Councilwoman Greene asked how long the classes last. Mayor asked ifthey have got the 3 cars from the City of Mobile. Mr. John White states not those 3 but they got 2 cars in and they are in front of the police building, working on a striping package. Mayor states they are changing the striping from black and white to blue Officer Turberville states 13 weeks. and white. FIRE Councilman Hadaway states the fire department had 45 calls in March. STREEIS/PUBLIC WORKS Mayor states that Mr. Wayne and workers have been cutting brush back and fixing to start cleaning out ditches.
