Mayor states that you have to fill out the request Mr. Bo Myers asked ift the police department was going to do the police fund raiser again this year and what was the total raised last year. ChiefKirkland states that they are not doing it this year. Mrs. Michelle Salter states that she does the Christmas stockings for the police department and fire department. She takes donations from the community businesses and individuals that want to! help. She fills the stockings with toys for the police and fire to give out to the children as they see fit. Mrs. Salter states she completed 98 stockings last year. Mrs. Salter iss starting the project again this year and is asking for donations early. The Senior citizens might could help put the stockings form, and there is a. .25 cent charge per page. together. RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES AND OTHER BUSINESS Councilwoman Greene states that Mr. Terry Foster, gives the hunting education classes in the SAIL center building for free, his son Mr. Terry Waylon Foster is the 2017-18 Valedictorian for Councilwoman Greene states that the interns Ms. Madeline Newton and Ms. Dreyanna Morgan will be working with the city this summer, both ladies spoke and are excited to be interning this Mayor states that the cities intern last year, Ms. Sabrina Presley will be interning with AM-NS engineering dept. this summer. She was a very smart young lady and we was glad to have her intern Mayor states they will be purchasing bonds from AMIC insurance for employees, council, mayor and fire chief, individuals that handle money or write or sign checks. Mayor states that employees are covered under a $20,000.00 bond and people that are not employees ofthe city that required to be bonded is Mayor, City clerk- Carolyn Sue Cain, Fire Chief- Jeff Reeves, Councilwoman Councilwoman Greene made a motion to purchase bond insurance on the listed people. Councilman Walker asked if any of these roads are under 50-feet right of way? Mayor explained that the roads will have to have 50 feet to get on the Pay as you go program through the county. Councilman Martin asked about adding the small section ofr road (about 200 yards) at the end of Dead Lake Marina Rd in front of St. Andrews Chapel? Mayor states it can be added tot the list. Councilwoman Greene states that on the Pay as you go program when a road is chosen by the county to get paved or resurfaced the city does not get the money, the county bids it out and write ChiefKirkland asked that the police cars windows can be tinted for $200.00 each, for 6-8 cars, Councilwoman Greene made a motion for the police car windows to be tinted as needed. Councilman Martin asked chief Kirkland ifthe tint would within state law. Mr. Flynn Councilwoman Greene states that May 19-22, Mayor, Councilwoman Moss and herself went tot the Alabama League of Municipalities. A class was held on social media policy and she would like permission to ask attorney Mr. Mims to write aj policy for the city to cover social media policy. Mayor states that the conference at. The attorney states that the old ordinance was very limited to mainly house hold trash and the new ordinance will cover a broader area concerning trash, litter and house hold trash, etc. and thei fine has been increased to match the state litter statue. Councilwoman Moss made a motion to amend the trash Ordinance No 521 to Ordinance No 2018- Councilwoman Moss explained the process of demolition property and the attorney will look into Councilwoman Greene states that she has information on the training kits for the police and fire department about "Stop the bleeding" and maybe the chiefs can get together and have a class.
