Rev. John White gave the Invocation. Councilwoman Greene made a motion to accept the minutes of 08/08/2019, seconded by Councilwoman Moss, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. c.m. 08.22.2019 CITIZENS ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL 1. Don Nelson - Request submitted for public crecords Don Nelson stated that he had requested a copy of the application from the Kentucky Boys for the re-zoning of the property on. Jackson Rd. Creola Holding Co. from R-1to R-5. He referred to Code 75 Section 36-12 for his request. City Attorney, Danny Mims, told Mr. Nelson that he had received this request tonight and he would review it. Mr. Nelson wanted a time frame when he could expect the document. Attorney Mims told him he would get toi it as quick as he can. Mr. Hudson stated that he was told he could not bring his phone into the meeting, but phones are needed in case of a medical emergency. Mayor Criswell stated if you bring it in, it must bet turned off, no texting and no talking during 3. Kenneth Wilson- He signed up to speak, he declined when Mayor Criswell called 2. Ms. Shenika Brown stated that the information will be mailed March 2020.We will receive by April 1, 2020. To apply as a census worker, must be 18 or older, have a valid e-mail address. Contact: 1-855-JOB-2020. The 2020 Census workers will have badges to bei identified as a Census Worker. Everything is confidential. If you wish to be a census worker, there are three ways to respond: (1) phone, (2) paper; (3) internet. Census workers will be paid $16.00/hourly- + The Resolution was read by Councilwoman Green and made motion to adopt the .58 for mileage. You must have a valid e-mail. 2. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE In-Kind credit for each one attending. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS Gloria Myers stated no report. PARKS AND RECREATION Chair William Chambers encouraged all citizens to attend the workshops as we received Major Holt is out oft town. Mayor Criswell reported that Major Holt is ready for the Fall Soccer season. 334 have registered and registration is cut-off as we are out of coaches. We have participants from Fairhope and Daphne. SENIOR CITIZENS Councilwoman Moss reported that the agreement for the Van has been signed. She reported that seniors exercise M-W-F, Thursday they play Bingo. They work puzzles and other activities, as well. FINANCE Councilwoman Greene gave the financial report, giving a copy to the Council. John White reported that two new police officers, hired thru MCPB, have passed their tests and applied tot the Academy. FIRE Power. Mayor Criswell reported that Chief Reeves is absent as he had to work late at Alabama STREETS/PUBLICV WORKS Mayor Criswell reported that 2 tractor tires were purchased today. Grass is slowing down, and Wayne is catching up. Mayor Criswell stated that we are accepting bids for the bridge repair. Job will go to lowest bidder. BUILDING INSPECTOR MAYOR'S DISCUSSION Don Moss -absent- at VA in Biloxi have dental work. 1. Mayor Criswell read a letter that was sent to all Mayors in the area from Dr. Bernard Eichold w/ Mobile County Health Board, stressing the dangers of Golf Carts. The golf carts are not allowed to operate on public highways. 2. Mayor Criswell reported on Cyber Security. Ransom Ware is being used and 3. Mayor Criswell read the flyer on the Bass Fishing Tournament tol be held September 21st @ Mobile Delta Marina as a fundraiser for Women 's Resource Center. Prizes -$ $1,200.00 1st Prize; $800.00 2nd Prize; $500.00 3rd Prize stated that we are using areas to protect us. Mayor Criswell gave an update on the Pay-As-You-Go Project.
