Laurin will be replacing Mark Kent. Mayor Criswell stated that Mark was a fine man, great reporter and he will surely be missed. Bro. John White gave the Invocation. Pledge of Allegiance Hadaway. Councilwoman Greene Councilman Martin Councilman Walker Councilwoman Moss Councilman Hadaway Mayor Criswell City Attorney -Ms. Theresa Williamson City Clerk-Carolyn Sue Cain Upon the call of roll, the following were found to be present except Councilman ABSENT Councilwoman Greene made a motion to accept the original minutes by the city clerk, Carolyn Sue Cain of2/13/2020, and not the minutes listed verbatim by Councilman Hadaway, seconded by Councilwoman Moss, all favored except for Councilman Martin who opposed, motion carried 4-1. c.m. 03.12.2020 City Attorney Theresa Williamson stated even though there were two sets of minutes, the minutes prepared by the city clerk were the official minutes and should be ones Councilwoman Moss made a motion to accept the minutes of 2/27/2020, seconded by accepted. Councilman Walker, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. RESIDENTS ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL NONE RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES AND OTHER BUSINESS 1. Senior Van- Mayor Criswell reported that the senior van holds two wheelchairs and by law we must have the appropriate lettering on the back oft the van. Councilwoman Moss is having the van lettered for $120.00 @ Signs by Design. It will be ready for pick-up next week. Councilwoman Greene made a motion to accept the $120.00 invoice for lettering the van, seconded by Councilwoman 2. Building for Public Works Department Equipment - Mayor Criswell got 3 quotes Moss, all favored, none opposed, motion carried. for the building. 1. Chad Hill- Hill Builders 2. Councilwoman Greene made ar motion to approve Off site liquor license for Dollar General, seconded by Councilman Walker, all favored, none opposed except for Councilman Martin, motion carried 4-1. Mayor Criswell reported that the following businesses in Creola already have the off-site liquor license for the sale of beer and wine: Mac's Discount, Chevron, BP, Liquor Store next door to Chalkboard Restaurant. The Creola Grocery is requesting the same but no documentation from the ABC Board. 2 c.m. 03.12.2020 PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE Councilwoman Greene stated the next meeting will be Tuesday, 3/17/20201 Workshop- Nicole Taylor w/ SARPC will have the draft to send out by March 31st. She will e-mail the city clerk and the city clerk will e-mail to all council members for review. There will be a 5PM; Meeting-6PM; We have no applications to date. Public Hearing in April or May, giving the council time to review. ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION No Report Mayor Criswell reported that Major Holt is out of town but will be back tomorrow to attend a meeting at Citronelle Academy with Mayor Criswell. Major Holt has 367 registered for Spring Soccer. Mayor Criswell stated the new machine for the park willl be here next week. Under the State Bid Law, the equipment must be ordered from John Deere. We cannot get it off the lot. SENIOR CITIZENS Councilwoman Moss reported that the seniors will take their first field tripi ini the new van to Poarch Creek Indian Museum and lunch at Stagecoach. Seniors will leave the Councilwoman Moss stated that the annual Senior/Veterans Pancake Breakfast will be center at 9am on 3/20/2020. held in May. Will announce the date at the next meeting. FINANCE Councilwoman Greene gave the financial report, giving a copy to the Council. Chaplain John White stated 2 officers will be graduating from the academy on March 31, Chaplain John White introduced the newest police officer, Zachary Jordan a 16- year veteran. Mayor Criswell stated that Officer Jordan was with Mobile Police Dept. and was Officer of the year twice /we are happy to have him on board with us and he is doing a great job. FIRE Assistant Chief Charlie Moye reported 19 runs since last meeting. Engine #2 is with EEP Looking forward to getting the slide bed dumpster for the spring cleaning of the VFD, PD being repaired. and Public Works Department. STREETS/PUBLIC WORKS Wayne Miller is home after rehab from knee surgery. He will be back at work tomorrow. Anthony and Austin have been grading roads filling in potholes on Lister Dairy Rd and Brown Road. J.R. Henley has beavers and needs Wayne to get back and get them. BUILDING INSPECTOR new houses going up., Don Moss reported he is working 3 days a week @ SSAB's ne3w expansion. We have 5 4 c.m. 03.12.2020 MAYORSDISCUSSION Mayor Criswell reported that we have several people out sick, not just in our community but Linda, our court magistrate h as been out all week, Anthony's wife has pneumonia. The Mayor stated he had pneumonia for the past two weeks but is getting better. We are following leads from the Mobile County Health Dept. We will stay updated and let you know. John White, pastor, Creola Assembly announced a church function Friday night for the kids Grades 1-6. There will be laser tag, games and food. FREE to all kids grades 1- 6.
