The Council of the City of Creola, Alabama, met in the Creola City Hall at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Mayor William Criswell. We were led in prayer by John White. Roll call was taken by Brandy Davis. Present at the meeting was Lee Anne Greene, Tonya Moss, Harold Martin, Kendal Hadaway, Avis Walker, Mayor William Criswell, Brandy Davis, City Clerk, and Marcy Brown, Admin. Assistant. Danny Mims, City Attorney, was also in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Bill Criswell. Approval of the Minutes- The minutes of the September 10, 2020, regular meeting minutes were reviewed. Mr. Hadaway asked about Item #8, section a, about the members attending the 2020 Orientation Conference and Leadership Institute, to pay for the class up front. Mrs. Greene stated that anyone attending the class would have to pay upfront and then take the receipt and mileage to Marcy Brown, to be reimbursed by the City. A motion was made by Mr. Walker to accept the minutes, as written. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Moss. All in favor and the motion was carried. Item #7- Bill List Mrs. Greene presented the financials and bill list. Mrs. Greene also stated that the current Council paid the AMIC insurance at the beginning of every year, since 2016, with Alabama Power money received, making one payment instead of payments each quarter. Also, the majority of Workman's Comp was paid at the beginning of each year, since 2016, and then the remainder oft the balance was paid in. June, instead ofmaking multiple payments. Mrs. Greene made a motion to approve the financial report and bill list as presented. Mr. Walker seconded See the attached banking information with the amounts for all bank accounts. the motion. All in favor and the motion was carried. Item #8-1 New Business- a. Mayor Criswell reviewed the KDK Cleaning Contract. The City Hall building is cleaned biweekly for $125.00. The Public Works building is cleaned biweekly for $65.00. The total biweekly cleanings are $380.00. Mrs. Greene made a motion to renew the KDK Cleaning Contract for one, year, starting October 1, 2020. Ms. Moss seconded the motion. b. Tim Tewi is helping the Public Works Department pick up Hurricane Sally storm debris from residents who have placed the storm debris on the right of way in front of their yards. They have picked up some areas of Creola and should be finished by the end of next week. Creola citizens are being allowed to take Hurricane Sally storm debris to the burn pile located behind the park. Public Works and the Fire Department cleared 28 trees All in favor and the motion was carried. off roads after the storm. Item #9 - Old Business- a. COVID-19 update- Mayor Criswell stated that the COVID-19 cases have gone down since the mask ordinance has been in place. Mr. Walker made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
