PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES February 20, 2024 The Planning Commission oft the City of Athens, Alabama meti in regular session in the City Council Chambers on February 20, 2024 at 5:45 PM, after as short work session. The meeting was called to order by Commission Chair Gina Garth. Commission members present at the meeting included Rick. Johnson, Rhonda Weatherford, Rod Herron, Venard Hendrix, Brad Mallette, Chief James Hand, and! Mayor Ronnie Marks. Also present were City staff members Erin' Tidwell, City Planner, Paige Parker, Planner, and Andrea Colburn, Administrative Coordinator. Ms. Garth opened the meeting by introducing the members oft the Commission and City staff. Ms. Garth then stated that the minutes of the. January 23, 20241 Planning Commission meeting had been submitted for approval. Rod Herron offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: "BEI ITI RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATHENS, ALABAMA, that the minutes for the. January 23, 2024 meeting be approved." Venard Hendrix seconded the motion, and the vote was unanimous oft the voting members Ms. Garth announced that Agenda Item 6.A., the request for Final Plat Approval of Emma at Arabella Village, Phase 11 had been withdrawn from the agenda. There being no old business to present. discuss, the meeting proceeded. Consent Calendar: 6.B. Request of Gregg Crow for Final Plat Approval of. Athens Preserve Subdivision, ai major subdivision of-+- 13.59 acres into 381 lots, located approximately 200' east of Bullington Road and approximately 800' north of Washington Street West (Parcel #100307-1-002004000, Ms. Tidwell described the applicant's request and stated that Staff sees no issues with this request, but would ask that approval be contingent upon the property passing all final inspections and the Resolution. Ms. Garth opened the public hearing. Ms. Tidwell described the applicant's request, stating that Ms. Garth asked ifanyone was present on behalf oft the request.
