MINUTES OFTHE: MEETINGOF THE CITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF ARAB, ALABAMA NOVEMBER 6, 2023 The City Council oft the City of Arab, Alabama, met ini regular session at 6:00 p.m. fori its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 6, 2023, in Arab City Hall, the time and place scheduled for Mayor Bob. Joslin called the meeting to order. Uponi roll call, thei following answered present: such meeting. JOHNNYHART ALANMILLER MITCH STONE MARK GULLION Also present were Tony Willis (City Clerk), Rodney Edmondson (City Attorney), city department Mayor Joslin declared a quorum present and opened the meeting for the transaction of business. The minutes of the October 16, 2023, regular meeting was approved by unanimous vote upon a Mayor. Joslin reminded the Counsel oft the staff reports made in the work session. With noi further staff reports, or old business, the Mayor then moved to the first item of new business, A Resolution to Approve Planning/Milling Asphalt Bids for City Street Paving. Council Member Gullion moved to approve thel bid specs, Council Member Stone seconded and all voted yes. The Mayor then moved to the second item of new business, a Resolution to. Approve the Application for ATRIP II Grant Funding with City's matching funds. Council Member Hart moved to suspend the reading, Council Member Stone seconded and all voted yes. Council Member Miller moved to suspend the Rules, Council Member Gullion seconded and all voted yes. Council Member Hart then moved to Adopt the Resolution, Council Member Stone seconded and all voted yes. The Mayor then moved to the third item of new business, a Resolution to Award Sidewalk & Streetscape Improvements on. ALI HWY 69 (Cullman Road) Bid to. Alabama Grading &E Excavating, LLC for total base bid of $256,615.49. Council Member Gullion moved to approve and heads, representatives: oft the media, and thej public. MayorJoslin led the pledge ofallegiance. The invocation was, given by Council Member Miller. motion made by Council Member Hart and seconded by Council Member Gullion. award, Council Member Stone seconded and all voted yes. Mayor Joslin then opened up the floor for public comment. Vincent Kirk Bowman questioned new small cell tower ordinance and thanked City for moving towards these technical updates that would bel beneficial to the citizens. He also said he appreciated the city and the safety offered in this community.
