City of North Lauderdale Commission Meeting  Minutes April 30, 2024  The City Commission of the City of North Lauderdale met in person on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. 1. MOMENT OF REFLECTION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE- Mayor Samson Borgelin led the moment of reflection and Commissioner Mario Bustamante led the pledge of allegiance. He requested a workshop be held on the process of hiring a Deputy City Clerk to encourage transparency in the decision making. Discussion ensued on the process and the panel interviews. Commissioner Bustamante stated he believes the only one who can qualify the Deputy City Clerk is the City Clerk with the assistance of Human Resources. Color Me Calm, Adult Coloring Club, North Lauderdale Saraneiro Branch Library, May  20, 2024, 6-7 p.m.  City Manager Sargis thanked Parks & Recreation staff, BSO and Fire Rescue for all they did during North Lauderdale Days. He also thanked all Staff who helped during the Chilean delegation visit. He commented on upcoming Mother's Day events. On May 18, 2024 will be a BSO Building Bonds Event in the morning and the Haitian Flag Day Festival int the afternoon. Mr. Sargis thanked ITi for all the work in the Commission Chambers. He also commented on al letter sent to Broward County Administrator City Manager Sargis requested to move the May 28, 2024. All City Manager Sargis commented on Redefining Schools in Coral Springs regarding possible school closures in Broward County. None of the schools are located in North Broward. COMMISSION COMMENTS  Vice Mayor Lewis-Ricketts - Commented on discretionary funds for Mother's Day Tea Party on May 15, 2024, reminded District D that on May: 1, 2024 there will be a help for cell phones for seniors at Champions Hall at 10:30 a.m., there will be a cleanup event on May 4, 2023 on 10th Street and 10th Court. Commissioner Lewis moved to approve $250.00 discretionary funds for Vice Mayor Lewis-Rickett's Seniors Mother's Day Tea Party event. Seconded by Commissioner Bustamante. Clerk took roll. All YES.
