MARGATE RESIDENT OF THE CAROLINA CLUB said that there was ar rumor that somebody wanted1 to! build 500 apartments and referenced 13th Floor and voiced his concerns and the lack ofr maintenance at thatl location. MAYOR RUZZANO responded to the Margate resident's comments. CITY ATTORNEY, DAVIDI N. TOLCES, advised that until an application comes before RESIDENT OF THE CAROLINA CLUB requested the City to provide the list that was JULI VAN DERI MEULEN, 2913NW68LN., said thats she was compelled to address ther reçent developments concerning the Carolina Golf Course and reada a statement on M.J. DUFF, 7305 NW8TH COURT, voiced his concerns ont the development oft the JONATHAN. A. KRALJIC, 7357 FLORES WAY, reada a statement asking for consideration of directing the cameras tot the members of the public when they make comment. He also discussed. LAUREN BERACHA, 69501 NW1 14TH PLACE, saidt thats she attended the Broward County Commission Meeting. She discussed her concerns on possible developments DONNA L. FELLOWS, 6108 NW9THCOURT, thanked Mayor Ruzzano for sponsoring Loganf for the Broward County state competition pertaining to bowling. She thanked Commissioner. JOANNE SIMONE highlighted that Florida was int hurricane season and reminded people to have all their supplies and relevant equipment. She informed that from June 1st- - 15th and August 24th - September 26th, it was the 2024 Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday and she discussed the same. She warned car drivers not top park ont the sidewalk. She advised people tos stay well and hydrated. COMMISSIONER. ANTONIO' V.. ARSERIO encouraged people to take advantage oft the tax holiday during the hurricane season. He recommended having sandbag events in advance of something occurring. He congratulated all of the bowlers that were COMMISSIONER SIMONE explained that there was a right and wrong way to usea sandbag and asked that ther residents could be educated int the right way ofs stacking them and suggested putting this information ont the City's website. VICE MAYOR ARLENE R. SCHWARTZ said that she had always watered her lawn on Thursdays and Sundays. She explained that through their annual Drop Savers Water  sponsored by the City. He said that yesterday's graduation ceremony att the Margate Sports Complex (MSC) was incredible and! highlighted the 4th of July Parade. He explained thatt the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) easement would not be possible to store equipment for the hurricane. He wished all the  children al happy ands safe summer. CITY MANAGER CURTIS explained that the City was setting the rate for $300f for Residential and that there were: some slight adjustments tot the non-Residential rates; the Commercial and Industrial. He confirmed that ther notice did not have to go outt this COMMISSIONER. ARSERIO said that the Fire Assessment (FA) fees only covered 80%, that the City was subsidizing 20% and costs would continue toi increase. He advised that whent the City tried tor raise the FAI by $25- $50, the residents got upset but said that the City would! have to increase the rates and that he would like to see small MAYOR RUZZANO compared the presentation to that of some years ago where the CITY MANAGER CURTIS confirmed that the number did change which may have MAYOR RUZZANO confirmed that the City could charge up to $400 per home fori the FA and concurred with Commissioner Arserio's recommendation.  year.  incremental changes of approximately $5 per year.
