The Building Authority has issued 202 residential building permits since the tornado. Mr. Kipp also communicated there is a lotofcommercial construction in Bellefontaine and a lot ofremodels. Although under-staffed, the IM Unit continues to perform within the guidelines set by the state/federal requirements oft the Programs we administer for the State. The four new hires are doing very well in their training. They have completed their virtual training with the state and are beginning their eighth week ofin-house training. We anticipate that they will be ready for their Workforce update- Goodwill has been an excellent partner in assisting JFS with work placements for CCMEP and work required participants. JFS currently has four individuals learning valuable on-site job skills while keeping their benefits and enhancing other life skills. JFS also has two new consumers who are: in the CCMEP Classroom to be able to have a job site assignment. JFS has workers placed at Solid Waste, Lutheran Community services, 600 Hundred Pizza, Goodwill Enterprises, and Candy Craze, YMCA, Holt Automotive, Ms. Heffner is continuing to work with the Logan County EMA and the Long-Term Recovery Team for the victims of the March 14th Storms. We meet weekly to discuss individual cases and the Community Recovery Group meeting at least monthly currently. Senior Services Coalition hosted a successful Senior Day Event on May 14th. JFS are: now preparing to assist with Senior Day at the Logan County Fair on July 9th. MEETINGS Commissioner Robinson and Commissioner Yoder met with Logan County Sewer District Director Brian Schultz. Mr. Schultz indicated that his office was recently working with the State Auditors staff and it was a very smooth process. Mr. Schultze attributed this to the new software that they had installed last year allowing for easier reporting and record finding. Director Schultze stated that LCSWD employee Kaylor Mobley had recently passed his Operator 2 test. All damage from the tornado has been repaired at the Belle Center lift station. Orchard Island repairs are: nearing completion, and the CR: 38 chemical station has been repaired. The Director Schultz indicated that potential $1.5 million dollars in funding has been approved in the state capital budget to improve the Flat Branch sewer facility. Ifthe funding comes to fruition we could potentially look at moving the treatment plant to the planned Eastern Regional sewer site and discharging into Otter Creek. We could utilize Flat Branch as aj pumping station and would no longer discharge int the Big Darby. Discussion of a meeting with Village of Belle Center officials on 6/14 in regard to repairs needed at the lift station that serves the village. Further testing is needed, and there is ai resolution to hire Choice One Engineering Orchard/Wolfe Island project is now considered complete. to evaluate the lift station for what repairs are needed. Director Schultz met with officials ofl Honda Transmission in regard to discuss transferring two lift stations back to Honda that are currently owned by the district. These stations only serve Honda and due to expansion of Mr. Schultz is working with Logan County IT personnel to study the possibility ofl bringing the sewer district on to the County network, and for district personnel tol have county e-mail addresses. This is in the beginning stages and may or may be the best plan but now is the time to plan as the existing IT contract expires in 2025. Discussion ensues concerning the Longview Cove Homeowners Association and their desire to turn their private sewer system over to the county to be aj part oft the public infrastructure. Mr. Schultze conducted an in- house evaluation a year or two ago but asked for the Commissioners to consider an outside evaluation to be conducted by Choice One Engineering or another firm. The Commissioners agreed with seeking an initial quote too conduct the evaluation and depending on that cost would consider the next step at that time. facilities and security reasons the districts access is sometimes limited to the stations.
