City Council Called Work Session Minutes Jacksonville, Alabama January 4, 2024  The Council of the City of] Jacksonville, Alabama, met on January 4, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Court Room of the Public Safety Complex, 911 Public Safety Drive SW, Jacksonville, Alabama fora Called Work Session. Council President Pro-Tempore Coty Galloway called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The following Council Members were present: Andrew Green, Sherry Laster, and Terry Wilson. The following Council Member was absent: Tony Taylor. Mayor Johnny Smith and City Clerk Brenda Long were present. PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL DISCUSSION. Human Resources Manager Joy Seijo went page by page over the changes that have been made to the manual. The Council had an extensive discussion on the meal allowance for travel. The allowance for daily meal expenses will be reconsidered during the 6-month budget review. Joy Seijo will have a clean version sent to department heads by Tuesday for review and this will be added to the January 22, 2024, meeting for further discussion. This draft will not be presented for approval until after the Alabama Legislature rules on Resolution R2198-24. Fire Fighter Seth Graham asked for clarification and gave suggestions on a few items in the  manual.  ANY OTHER BUSINESS. There was none.  ADJOURNMENT.
