GREENE COUNTYDEVELOPMENTAUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 14, 2024 8:00 a.m. Greene County. Administration Building Commission Conference Room 1034 Silver Drive, Greensboro, GA30642. Members present were Scott Tolleson (Chairman), Rabun Neal (Vice-Chairman), Sam Young (Secretary), Vincent Lewis (Assistant Secretary), Dee Lindsey. Others present were. David DuBois (Economic Development Director), Richard Schmidt (Attorney), John Ellenberg (CEO, Greene College & Career. Academy). Call to Order I. Chairman Tolleson called the meeting to order at 8:03 am. Minutes of April 9, 2024 meeting reviewed by board members. II. Approval of April 9, 2024 Minutes MOTION: Motion to approve thei minutes oft the Aprilg 9, 2024 meeting was made by Sam Young and seconded by Dee Lindsey. VOTE: Motion was approved byunanimous vote. III. Review and Approval ofFinancial Reports as ofI May 12, 2024 Financial reports as ofI May 12, 2024 and monthly statement were distributed for review for informational purposes only. Vincent Lewis and seconded by Rabun Neal. VOTE: Motion was approved by unanimous vote. IV. Business Items A. Economic Development Report a. David DuBois provided updates of economic development related activity including new Korean project manager at the state of Georgia for Project Canteen. A legislative update was also provided with emphasis on Senate Bill: 171 signed into law that requires development authorityboard members to have 21 hours oft training annually. V. Public Comments John Ellenberg updated thel board with achievements ofs students graduating that were: in the Greene College & Career Academy. 57 Students received industry credentials ini the areas of hospitality, welding, and automotive. Greene College & Career. Academy is partnering with Stl Marys hospital as] part of the: new Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) program. Mr. Ellenberg noted that 48% ofg graduates are entering the workforce with the remaining 52% enrolling in college and enlisting in the military. VI. Executive Session VII.
