INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Councilmember Gill called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Chief T.E Smith led the invocation. Firefighter Harley Gerald led the Pledge of Allegiance. RECORD OF ATTENDANCE The following elected officials were present: Councilmember Janet Gill Councilmember Martin Dates Councilmember William Carter Councilmember Beverly Johnson Councilmember Gill stated a quorum of the Town Council was present. APPROVALOF TOWN COUNCIL AGENDA Councilmember Dates made a motion to approve the Town Council Agenda for February 05, 2024 as written. Councilmember Gill seconded the: motion. Gill declared motion passed unanimously. APPROVALOE MINUTES Councilmember Johnson made a motion to approve regular council meeting minutes from January 02, 2024. Councilmember Dates seconded the motion. Mayor Perkins declared motion passed unanimously. APPROVAL OF INVOICES The' Town Clerk/Treasurer presented theinvoices ready to bej paid. Councilmember. Datesmadeamotion to approve all invoices as submitted. Councilmember Carter seconded the motion. The motion passed by voice vote with Councilmember Gill abstaining. Councilmember Gill declared motion passed PUBLIC HEARING-None PROCLAMATIONS BY THE MAYOR - None REQUESTS TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL - None DEPARTMENT AND COMMITTEE REPORTS: Fire: - Reports were presented. Mark Lewis reviewed the report with the council and announced the hydrant project will be underway by the end ofthe month. Court: Court reports for December 2023 were presented in the council packet Police: Chief Smith reviewed the report and numbers from December 2023. He address needs from the Chief Smith also took this time to recognize officers oft the Harpersville Police Department. The follow 1. Ordinance 2024-02-05-01 - To repeal and replace Ordinance 2023-08-21-04 to correct Councilmember Carter made a motion to approve Ordinance 2024-02-05-01 to repeal and replace Ordinance 2023-08-21-04 for the purpose of correcting ownership of the property being annexed into Harpersville. Councilmember Dates second the motion. By unanimous voice vote, Gill declared motion NEW USNES/NESOLITOASIONS/OADNANCI/ORDERS and OTHER BUSINESS clerical error ofo ownership passed. 1. Ordinance 2024-02-05-02 - Vacation of residential address 37 Jackson Street from Jackson Councilmember Carter made a motion to table Ordinance 2024-02-05-02 until the next scheduled meeting. Item being tabled to provided time to gather more information on Jackson Street and to verify The Town of Harpersville owns said road. Councilmember Dates second the motion. Ordinance 2024-02-05-03 - Annexation of parcel 078272000003.00 Councilmember Carter made ai motion to approve Ordinance 2024-02-05-03 to annex parcel 078272000.003.000 into the Town of Harpersville.
