Citizens/ Care Citizens Nursing Home Board Meeting May 23, 2024 Call to order: Citizens Care Board Chair Patricia Scott-Badeker called the meeting to order at 10:05 am. Approval of Minutes The minutes from March 28h, 2024 were approved as amended. The minutes from April 25th, 2024 were approved. Nursing Report- - Ed Walter for Cassie Evering Covid Outbreak status: Currently out of outbreak status with no positive test results. Masks are now optional, continuing to test newa admits and anyone who is symptomatic. Staffing improving, hiring more: staff in lieu of using agency nurses. One as-needed RN wants to 3 out of the 4 students are working on their own, 1 is still in training. All are registered for their Working to train staff on new Enhanced Barrier Protection regulations. Administrator's Report - Ed Walter Census: Insurance: Outreach: The average daily census in April was 111. There were 23 admissions, 18 discharges, and 2 deaths. Medstar Family Plan application is still in review. Participated in GAIN Conference. Participated in Brightview Assisted Living Spring Fling. Visits to all local hospitals including Franklin Square. Participated in Harford County's Volunteer Fair. Participated in career Fair at Cecil College. Human Resources: departure. Facility Turnover 1.2%. Losses/Concerns: 1Loss, resolved. There were 8 new hires (1 RN, 2 LPNs, 2 GNAS, 2 Front Desk, 11 Nursing Admin) and 1 1Concern (1 bruise reported upon transfer, investigated to confirm origin). Financial Report = Keith Streett Positive income in April due to higher daily census, increase in nursing hours over agency hours, payer mix (72% Medicaid, 12% Private, 16% Medicare/Managed Care). Upcoming budget: There was discussion about revenue VS. budget and expense breakdown.
