629  April 9, 2024  1) Regular Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Tommy Carr.  2) Invocation 3) Pledge of Allegiance 4) Roll Call: Carr.  Members Present: Gerald M. Hall, Roger McDonald, Mike Goodman, Tommy 5) Consent Items: Read and approve the minutes of03/12/24: Motion to approve regular minutes by,Gerald Hall, 2nd By Mike Goodman Unanimous. 6) Citizen Forum: Ray & Steve Real Estate Agents from Staples attended meeting and introduced themselves and discussed parking options for the downtown area. A) Update on Annexation - A petition to file for annexation has been submitted a) Consider & Discuss Emergency Status of Garrison & Garner Street. Garner street has collapsed from all the rain & Garrison Street is quickly eroding and large trees are beginning to timber in damaged area. The damaged section of Garner has already been closed due to the collapse and Gerald Hall suggested closing both roads once they are declared an emergency. The council agreed. Mayor Tommy Carr suggests appointing Precision Terrain as the contractor on both Garner & Garrison Streets under the emergency status. Motion to declare Garrison Street & Garner Street in a state of emergency and Precision Terrain the emergency contractor by Gerald Hall, 2nd by Roger McDonald,  Members Absent: Johnnie Day, Staci Saunders  7) Old Business: 8) New Business:  and we are still waiting on the second petition.
