MINUTES Forney Parks and Recreation Board Thursday, May 16, 2024  1.CALLI MEETINGTO ORDER  The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the Council Chambers, Present were Chair Nate Dettmer and Commissioners: Cory Wiggins, Obed Centeno, Alexa Beasley, Deidra Henry and Kris Briggs (arriving at 7:07 p.m.). Absent was Commissioner. Diane McPherson. Also present from staff were Kyle Rouvaldt - Parks andl Recreation Director, Ricky Hoelscher-  City Hall, 101 EI Main Street, Forney, Texas.  Special Events Coordinator, and Andrea Lyons Administrative. Assistant.  2INVOCATIONPLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE  Chair Dettmer delivered thel Invocation and Commissioner Wiggins led thel Pledge ofAllegiance.  3. CONSENT. AGENDA  3.I. Approval OfThe April 10, 2024 Minutes.  Commissioner Beasley made a motion to approve thei item with no changes. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wiggins. The motion carried. Discuss and Consider The 2024 Parks and Recreation Department - Master Plan Commissioner Beasley made a motion to approve the master plan as presented to be given to Council. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Centeno. The motion carried. Ayes (6): Chair Dettmer and Commissioners: Centeno, Beasley, Briggs, Wiggins, Henry  Nays (0): None Absent (1): Commissioners: McPherson 6.1 DISCUSSIONITEMS  6.1. Discuss and Brainstorm Potential Park Projects Continued  Director Rouvaldt presented ideas regarding potential updates to pocket parks and new trails, pending approval ofbudget. Board members presented ideas they would like considered for future builds as well as ideas they would like to see updated or added to some oft the older parks, with priority on older  pocket parks.
