Avenue, DuBois, Pennsylvania on Monday, March2 21, 2022 @ 6:40 p.m.; Council convened at their regular City Council Meeting with Mayor Walshi ini the Chair. Other Council Members present were: Diane Bernardo, James Aughenbaugh, Shane Dietz, and Shannon Gabriel. Also present were: City Manager, John' "Herm" Suplizio; City Solicitor, Toni Cherry; Public Works Superintendent, Scott Farrell; Police Chief, Blaine Clark; and City Secretary, Bobbie Shaffer. Absent: City Controller, David Volpe Thel DuBois/Sandy. Joint Board Meeting was held prior toi ther meeting at 6p p.m. The meeting was calledt to order at 6.40 p.m. andi thel Pledge of Allegiance was led! by Mayor Walsh. Work Session Meeting Minutes - March 17,2022 The motion was made by Gabriel and seconded by Dietz that Council approve the Work Session Meeting Minutes of March 17, 2022 as presented by the City Secretary. Motion Ther motion was madel by Dietz ands seconded by Gabriel that Council approve thel Purchase Order Listing by Vendor Name dated March 17, 2022 ini that amount of $365,807.19 and the Check Register by Check ID dated March 15, 2022 in the amount of $13,546.53 as presented by the Finance Officer. Police Chief - Blaine Clark Dick Whitaker - 9F Person Consolidation Committee Chairman Thanked everyone fori their texts and prayers while they were down at thes scene. He was amazed how well behaved everyone was at the scene. Went on to say they! had al lot of support andi it was very much appreciated. Councilwoman- - Shannon Gabriel Itisr nice that we don't deal with this sort of crime very often int this area; buti it was good to see the officers were wellt trained and able tol handle the situation. Mayor Walsh Off duty officers came in to assist. Excellent work. Councilwoman- Diane Bernardo Asked Police Chief Clark about thes snake charmer in the City Park. Asked Solicitor Cherryif therei is anything on our books about exotic animals. Chief Clarks stated that Code Enforcer Lawhead told thei individuals only dogs on al leash are allowed in the park and the people left. Bernardo asked about feeding deer. Lawhead referred thei individuals tot the Game Commission is there anything in our Ordinances. Solicitor Cherry stated that any Ordinance the City of DuBois would! have concerning hunting animals would be pre-empted by the Game Commission. The City can regulate nuisance animals such as mice, rats, pigeons, etc. Last year it was people feeding foxes on the walkway; the Game Commission stated they are not allowed toi feed thei foxes. He suggested that we reach out to the Game Commission and ask themt to come in and talk to Council. People should not be feeding the deer.
