112 City Council Reorganizational Meeting Monday, January 3, 2022 @ 11 a.m. City Council Chambers, City Building, 16 West Scribner Avenue, DuBois, Pennsylvania on Monday, January 3, 2022 @ 11 a.m.; Council convened at their regular Reorganizational Ther meeting was calledt to order at 11a.m. andt the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Thel Honorable. Judge Paul E. Cherry stated that iti is anl honor to swear int these newly elected andr re-elected officials oft the City of DuBois. The City residents have expressed Mayor Elect, Edward L. Walsh; Councilmen re-elect, James Aughenbaugh and Shane Dietz; and City Controller Elect, David Volpe having received a majority of votes cast for their respective offices, were duly elected as Mayor, Members of City Council, and City Controller of the City of DuBois for (2)year and (4)yeart terms, beginning. January: 3, 2022. Ina accordance with Article' VII, Section 701, oft the Third-Class City Code, Mayor Walsh; Councilmen Aughenbaugh: and Dietz; and City Controller Volpe presented their "Certificate of Election" to be filed witht the Administrative: Secretary. The Mayor, Members of Council, and City Controller were alls sworn int by. Judge Paul E. Cherry and were duly certified as Mayor, Members of Council and City Controller. The new Council convened with Mayor Edward L. Walsh, int the Chair. Other members present were as follows: Diane Bernardo, James Aughenbaugh, Shane Dietz and City Controller, David Volpe. Also present were: City Manager, John "Herm" Suplizio; City Solicitor, Toni Cherry; Assistant City Solicitor, Paula Cherry; City Engineer/Public Works Director, Chris Nasuti; Deputy Treasurer, Tom Nowak; Redevelopment Authority Director/Assistant Public Works Superintendent/Fire Chief, Joe The motion wasi made by Aughenbaugh and seconded by Dietz that Council appoint Councilwoman Bernardo as Vice President of Council. Roll call vote was as follows: Dietz, yea; Bernardo, yea; Aughenbaugh, yea; Walsh, yea. Motion passed 4-0. Determination of day; and time of: 2022 Council Meetings and' Work Sessions City Manager Suplizio statedt that as consolidation has passed, we will now be holding joint meetings witht the Sandy Township Supervisors. To maket things simpler, hei is proposing that Council change our City Council Meetings tot thei first andi third Monday's of each month witht the 10-person Consolidation Committee Meeting held at 6p p.m. and the City Council Meeting right after. Work Sessions will continue to bet the Thursday prior to the Council Meeting at 4 p.m. Ther motion was madel by Bernardo ands seconded by Dietz that Council change their City Council Meetings to the first and third Monday's of eachr month witht the 10 -Person Consolidation Committee Meeting held at 61 p.m.;t the City Council Meeting heldi right after; and Work Sessions be held the Thursday prior to the Council Meeting at 41 p.m. Roll call vote was as follows: Dietz, yea; Bernardo, yea; Aughenbaugh, yea; Walsh, yea.
