Other Council Members present were: Jim Aughenbaugh, Diane Bernardo, Shane Dietz, Shannon Gabriel; and City Controller, David Volpe. Also present were: City! Manager, John "Herm" Suplizio; City Engineer/Public Work Director, Chris Nasuti; Redevelopment: Authority Director/Assistant Public Works Superintendent, Joel Mitchell; Code Enforcement/Zoning: Officer, Zacl Lawhead; Police Chief, Blaine Clark; and Finance Officer, Delean Shepherd. Approval of Minutes Review for Monday Approval of Registry of Invoices Review for Monday Second and Final Reading of Council Bill No. 1959 - Treasurer's Salary An Ordinance determining andi fixing thes salary oft the City Treasurer of the City of DuBois for the City Treasurer's duties as Treasurer and Tax Collector for thet four-year term commencing ont thef first (1$1) Monday of January 2022 and continuing through they year 2025; beginning at ther rate oft twenty-four thousand dollars ($24,000) for year 2022 and increasing by 3% each yearf for ther remainder of thef four-year term was presented for Second and Final Reading. The motion was made by Aughenbaugh and seconded by Gabriel that Council approved thes second and final reading of Council Bill No. 1959 andi it become Ordinance No. 1859 ini the Code of Ordinances for the City of DuBois. Roll call vote was as follows: Bernardo, yea; Gabriel, yea; Dietz, yea; Aughenbaugh, yea; Walsh, yea. Motion passed5-0. a. Ryan/Kelly Ferut- - 501 Orient Avenue - Rezoning Request Planning Commission Recommendation City Manager Suplizio informed Council of Planning Commission's denial of ther request from Ryan & Kelly Ferut and why. He informed them, that to grant ther request would be spotr rezoning, whichi is highlyi illegal. Staff tol look into Areas tol Rezone City Councilwoman Bernardo is asking Council's support in asking the very capable staff oft the City to look ata areasi int the City that could be rezoned tol help the Cityt thrive. Councilman Aughenbaugh said he remembers several problem areas in the City that could be rezoned to help! bring business. Mayor Walsh stated that he agrees with Councilwoman Bernardo's request but in the case of the Ferut request it would have been spotz zoning. Councilwoman Bernardo said: she understands that, butt there are areasi int the City that would not be considered: spotz zoning that could be rezoned. The motion was made by Bernardo and seconded by Gabriel that Council request the staff (Lawhead, Mitchell and Nasuti) look at areas that could be rezoned tol help the City grow and thrive.
