Other Council Members present were: Diane Bernardo and Shannon Gabriel. Also present were: City Manager,- John' "Herm" Suplizio; City Engineer/Public Work Director, Chris Nasuti; Redevelopment Authority Director/Assistant: Public Works! Superintendent, Joel Mitchell; Code Enforcement/Zoning Officer,Z Zac Lawhead; Public Works Superintendent, Scott Farrell; Police Corporal, Lanny Prosper;Police  Chief, Blaine Clark; andi Finance Officer, DeLeans Shepherd.  Approval of Minutes Review for Monday Approval of Registry ofl Invoices Review for Monday Mental Health & Wellness Festival  Aaron Beatty & Dan Cable - WPAL; and Connor from thel DASDI Hope Squad - Concerninga Mr. Beatty statedt that they would liket tol have a festival in the DuBois City Park on. June 24th concerning Mental Health & Wellness. They have been discussing thei festival with kids, asking them what would! help. The goali is tol have thel kidsr run the event. There will be food Councilwoman Bernardo askedi if Mr. Beatty had spoken with Ms. Shaffer and picked upi the necessary forms. Shev went oni to say that once Council hadr received the necessary Request from Clearfield. Jefferson Suicide Prevention Team for use of the City Park September 8- - 10, 2023 for the annual Suicide Prevention & Awareness Walk. Councilwoman Gabriel would liket toi increase the rates due toi the economy, sO shei is asking Council to comel back witha a numberi inr mind on Monday. Councilwoman Bernardo was ina agreement; she also  believes they should! be raised. Keystone Communities Grant Resolution  RESOLUTION NO. 2023-0363  The City of DuBois, Clearfield COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA  ARESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO1 THE KEYSTONE COMMUNITIES PROGRAM1 THROUGH THE WHEREAS, The City of DuBois, Clearfield County, desires tou undertake the Fire Apparatus Replacement project;  DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY ANDI ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (DCED) FOR THE FIRE  APPARATUS REPLACEMENT PROJECT  and    254  WHEREAS, The City of DuBois, Clearfield County, recognizes that the Fire Apparatus Replacement wouldb bea WHEREAS, The City of DuBois, Clearfield County, desires toa apply toa andi requestsf fundingf from thel DCED Keystone NOW THEREFORE, BEI ITRESOLVED1 THAT The City of DuBois, Clearfield County, Board of Supervisors hereby approves this project and authorizes application tot the DCEDK Keystone Communities Programi int the amount of BEITF FURTHERI RESOLVED' THAT, ifthe applicationi is granted, The City of DuBois, Clearfield County, Mayor and Council authorizest thel Mayora and City Manager toe execute any and alla agreements necessary to administer this Redevelopment. Authority Director/Assistant Public Works Superintendent, Joe Mitchell, stated we will ber replacing Engine 75. Ifhe gets approval today, he can apply tomorrow. The cost of thel Truck was $568,000; if we ordered this Truckt todayi it would bev well over $700,000. The motion was made by Gabriel and seconded by Bernardo that Council approve Resolution No. 2023-0363 - Keystone Communities Grant Resolution as presented. Roll call vote was as follows: Bernardo, yea; Gabriel, yea; Walsh, yea. Motion passed 3-0. Manager Suplizio talked witht the Game Commission concerning skunk removal; we may take care of this in-house. We would! have to purchase traps and have at few people licensed. Council was presented with an estimate ofl how muchi it would cost to replace the waterlines ina all the places we have replaced the sewer lines on Coke Hill. We would have to raise the water rates to pay fort the project. Before we pave the road, Chris would like Council toi think about thep project andl let him know what they want to do. Councilwoman Gabriel would liket tol know what thei increase would be. City Manager Suplizio asked Nasuti to figure out whatt ther rate increase would! be. Councilwoman Bernardo wanted tol know how much we have spent on waterline breaks up there. Finance Officer Shepherd: stated it depends ont the Accolades tot the Officers that were out doingt their jobs, like they should be, and were at the Congrats on the drug bust Chief Clark; he doesn't know how muchi in street value; estimated Joe Morrison should be commended for his parti ins stopping what could have! been much  community: asset tol The City ofD DuBois; and  Communities Program fora a grantf fort the purpose of completing this project; and  $400,000, and grant.
