Jared ST, Beaver Drive and Brady Street because they were ont their phones. He believes the solution would. be red light cameras on ours stopl lights, if people get ticketeda at few timest they will stopr running the lights. City Manager Supliziot thanked Mr. Hetricki for bringingt this problem to Council's attention. Chief Clark stated that hel has talked1 tol Mr. Hetrick. Clarks said that thisi is Aggressive Driving Month ini the state Pennsylvania. Councilman Aughenbaugh whot travelsf for works stated! hes sees aggressive driving everywhere he goes. Clarks stated! he doesn'tt think that red light cameras are out of the question. Mr. Hetrick reiteratedi that at ticketi int ther mail would slow people down. Councilwoman Bernardo: asked Mr. Hetricki if he knew that Pennsylvanial ist the only statet that does not allow local police to use radar. Mayor Walsh stated that hei thinks people don't even realize they are running the lights, because they aret talking on thet telephone. Walsh asked Engineer Nasuti to check with PennDOT about the possibility of using cameras on2 219. Preservation of Downtown DuBois Storefronts apply for façade grants. City Manager Suplizio announced that therei is money availablei for downtown merchants to Councilwoman Bernardo: stated that the Downtown Group wouldl like tol knowi ifthe City! has an Ordinance prohibiting firstf floor apartments int the downtown. She suggested that Council turn the letterf from the Downtown over tot the Planning Commission to work on an Ordinance. City Solicitor Cherry said that we already have an Ordinance. Councilwoman Bernardo asks ifthe Ordinance is only for a specified area. Planning Commission Chairwoman Moore stated that the Ordinance targets central Commercial downtown. City Solicitor Cherry said that the only way toh have apartments int the downtown is ift they are ont the 2nd floor. Bernardo saidt therei isa rumor that building thati formerly housed Mike's Lock Shop was putting apartments ont the first floor. Solicitor Cherry statedi itisa a matter ofe enforcement. Her concerni is allo oft the older churches whose attendance have fallen toi the place the congregation can nol longer support the church. Solicitor Cherrysaid, inc orderf for someone to put al high-rise upi int the City of DuBois they wouldi first have to come tot the Planning Commission. Recommendations: Maple Avenue Streetscape City Manager Suplizio stated that after the bids were tabulated it was determined that the project was out of our financial range. We receivedag grant for $750,000 and as everyone cans see the lowest bid camei ina atc over 1.1 million. City Engineer Nasuti recommends that Council deny the bids and we go back and re-scope the project and rebid. He statedt that allt the bids were very close but the lighting put us way over. He thinksi ifv we re-scope the project and onlyt takei ittot thet township line we may be able tos stillp proceed withi it.
