QUEENSTOWN COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting July 30, 2020 President Willis motioned to call the special meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. for the purpose of discussing concerns at the boat ramp and parking area. Present, or participating via Zoom, were President Tom Willis, Commissioner Hogie Schuster, Commissioner Al Hardee, Town Attorney Commissioner Hardee announced that the Commissioners are wrestling with how to improve the use oft the boat ramp and parking area. Parking has become al big issue, as well as speeding boats in the creek. Improvements to the ramp would be considered a construction project, separate from our dredging project. We would need to get an engineer involved and apply for the appropriate permits. The Commissioners would like tol hear what concerns the residents have: Matt Reno - asked that he Commissioners not stall on the parking part of the project. Look at the project in two phases - parking and the ramp itself. Encouraged the Commissioners to go with addressing the parking and installing signage - take a proactive approach. He agreed to have the engineer provide a scope of services for the ramp. Get DNR to come and evaluate the Loretta Hohmann - sent pictures to the office showing the number of vehicles and trailers parked at the landing. Parking needs to be addressed and the ramp should be addressed properly. Geoff Leech = appears to be several issues running parallel. 1) ramp, 2) DNR, and 3) parking. Suggests taking time on the ramp. Look into floating dock and concrete barriers. Matt Reno - suggested having the Finance Committee develop a capital program for the landing and ramp.
