QUEENSTOWN COMMISSIONERS March 25, 2020 Special Meeting A special meeting was held via Zoom conference in the Town Office for the purpose of discussing options for replacing the failing membranes. Participating were President Tom Willis, Commissioner Hogie Schuster, Commissioner Al Hardee, Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan, Town Manager/Clerk Amy Moore, Town Engineer Bob Rauch, Engineer George Frigon, Joe Vigil and Martin Swanson of Ovivo, Julian Kline and Jon Goodman of Microdyn-Nadir, and President Willis called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. and turned it over to Julian Kline for a Mr. Kline reviewed design improvements to the new L-2 membranes, which would replace the L-1's. Improvements include no sides, shock absorbers, clip bars, all of which increase Mr. Kline proposed to replace 4 modules with L-2's at no cost to the town. They would extend the warranty to April 30, 2025. Itis initially expected to expire January 20, 2022. They would provide an online monitoring tool called Streametric at no cost to the town thru the extended warranty period. After that, there would be an annual fee of approximately $2,000 (not confirmed) beginning in May 2025. Monitoring can be accessed thru any smart phone once set Mr. Kline advised that the Bio-Cell L-2's have been available for approximately 6 months. Mr. Kline advised once ordered, they can send out in 2-3 weeks, anticipating arrival here in late Ms. Ryan asked if there were any other options on the table, besides what has been offered. Mr. Kline advised they would also consider annual technical service inspection at no charge. Mr. George Frigon inquired about another option recently suggested by Ovivo. As Microdyn- Nadir was not familiar with any prior option, they felt that they could not contribute anything further at this time. It was explained that the Town had become frustrated with the failing membranes and had spoken with Ovivo about possibly replacing with another brand or different version.
